Running thread

I've always ignored the heart rate zones and just go off how I'm feeling (mainly because Garmin says that 80% of my runs are in zone 5!).
Yesterday I ran 11k at 4:37/km and my average was 167 bpm. Didn't feel any discomfort when running and my breathing was good.
I've tried running below 140 once and I was almost walking!

Not really sure why that is. I noticed we both got similar times in the 10k.

The following day I went on a recovery run 10k, ran it fully in Zones 1/2/3 in a time of 53:22 minutes.

I'm going to try and take it easy with a long run this weekend and see how it compares.
I only get out 2 or 3 times a week so always feel like I have to make an extra effort.

Not sure I’ll be running tomorrow after the 55.5 miles done on the bike, brutal winds at times and I’ve an arse in utter agony after 6 months not being on the bike!! Amazed I managed that far as comfortably as I did but my mate picked the route and in for a penny and all that... see how the legs feel tomorrow morning.

I'm wrecked after having the covid vaccine yesterday. My arm is hurting. I have a funny temperature, muscle aches and headache.

The longer than normal trail run yesterday and the extra bottle of beer last night aren't helping though !
