I've always ignored the heart rate zones and just go off how I'm feeling (mainly because Garmin says that 80% of my runs are in zone 5!).
Yesterday I ran 11k at 4:37/km and my average was 167 bpm. Didn't feel any discomfort when running and my breathing was good.
I've tried running below 140 once and I was almost walking!
I'm going to try and take it easy with a long run this weekend and see how it compares. Not really sure why that is. I noticed we both got similar times in the 10k.
The following day I went on a recovery run 10k, ran it fully in Zones 1/2/3 in a time of 53:22 minutes.
My plans to do a long one today have been scuppered by a horrible hangover. Was supposed to be a quiet and early to bed and ended up a 3am session.I’m gonna half marathon it tommorow.
been slacking last few weeks.
Hope you feel better soon mate. It knocked me out for a few days.I'm wrecked after having the covid vaccine yesterday. My arm is hurting. I have a funny temperature, muscle aches and headache.
The longer than normal trail run yesterday and the extra bottle of beer last night aren't helping though !
Well I did it , had my doubts but did 15 km in just over 90 minutes , 2 weeks until the half marathon and I need to up it another 6 km .... can’t be that hard can it lol
If anyone is having doubts about running in the bad weather (have you got this bad weather in Manchester today?), then just do it!

I've been using Asics for at least 15 years when their stability shoes were recommended to me by a podiatrist. I've tried loads of other shoes over the years but, as an over-pronator, I always come back to the Asics GT 2000 and 4000.How do you find the Asics Stu?? Never ran in those before.
Well done mate.
