Energy, the environment & climate change.

Good for you. They're debunked
Eh? What is that supposed to mean?

EDIT: Never mind. I am bored with this. I am sure everyone else is. You made a mistake, or were misinformed, whatever. It happens, we get it. That you cannot bring yourself to admit it is your issue I guess not mine. Have a good day.

Santos has released findings of a potential massive gas discovery in the NT.

Fantastic news for Australia and the developing countries of the world if True.

Early days and more research required just to explore how big the discovery is but many long term jobs in the NT and surrounds will be created if the project is allowed to go ahead assuming the discovery is as good as Santos are saying.

Good news day all round in Australia today on the energy front.

This is awful news for the entire planet.

Not the renewable energy front. This isn’t good for Green issues at all.

Just listened to this governments ‘big’ plan for the environment. Lot of talk and no substance. Want to reduce carbon production by 80% by 2035!! They want us to stop using gas for heating and yet no support to do so. Heat pumps are mega expensive £10k+ for a reduction in bills of peanuts. My house will need supplementary heating even with a heat pump. No proposals on how to overcome this. They are still going ahead with their plans to spend £bns on road building which will increase emissions.

As usual with this government - all mouth and no trousers.

how did this page become a debate about the future of the sun in 1.5/5 billion years? the timescale for essential action on climate change is the next 10 years and the horizon for a planet that's uninhabitable in many places is the next 100.

Wake up everyone and do your little bit .. As Mr KPXBLN says ...

The Time Is Now

What will you be doing to save our planet!

I'm not trying to lecture anyone about doing their/our bit. Just trying to say that I don't understand the relevance of what happens to the sun in a billion+ years

I never thought for a moment you were.
The time is upon us and high time we all stood up and took notice.

Anyone know what caused the recent black outs in California and Texas?

How much was lost to their economies as a result?

America to decide what Australia's climate warming policies should be over the next 30 years rather than how we decide to transition over many decades to cleaner , cheaper electricity generation keeping jobs here in our country while China laughs all the way to take those jobs and import low grade turbines and solar panels using slave labour to do so back to Australia using our fossil fuels to do so.

China using fossil fuels to power their transition to reducing poverty in that country polluting over 50 per cent of world CO2 emission and the rest of the world thinking a Country that reneged on Hongkong , will renege on Taiwan and can't be trusted on any so called agreements they make in the Economic and Political sphere will not continue to build coal fired power stations well into the second half of this century and beyond (LOL).

How deluded can the Western world be to trust China on their word on anything when it comes to the CCP.

Take a long running jump USA and China off a short pier into the rising sea levels.

the Paris agreement is no more than a China agreement and we will do it our way , having met our commitments on Co2 emission reduction to date unlike New Zealand and Canada for example to date paying lip service to emission reduction.

Sorry to dig this one up, I watched this last night, it's partly by Michael Moore so best taken with a pinch of salt but it shows the holes in the current green movement and also basically why we are fu**ed.

A lot of people/companies making an awful lot of money from so-called environmental schemes without really giving a flying f*ck about the environment.

Got a friend who works for a well known recycling/waste company. They're decent and follow the correct protocols, but my mate said it is shocking how many bullshit "recycling and waste removal" companies there are out there who are just poisoning the earth. Dangerous chemicals being stored in the ground with no protection near rivers etc, all to make quick cash.

It's a dangerous game to play as the fines for a breach of environmental law are potentially unlimited (usually to cover court costs and cleanup cost, which can be in the order of £Millons).
