Nice wording there, I don’t think we have ‘actively pursued’ Messi for two years - we have reacted, we have told him he is welcome here - but we are not chasing, more leaving it to him.
I don't put too much stock into that list except for Nolito because he was the only Pep signing. Like others have said he didn't want to be here and wanted to leave. However, he did serve a purpose and didn't play badly. I feel the reason Pep wanted him was because he was a veteran player and it would buy time for the younger winger in Sane to learn and eventually come in which did happen.Rodwell - £12 million, sold for £10 million
Sinclair - £8 million, sold for £4 million
Jovetic - £23 million, sold for £12 million
Navas - There's no way you can class Navas as a lesser player or a waste of a transfer
Nolito - £14 million, sold for £8 million
Fernando - £12 million, sold for £5 million
Garcia - £16 million, sold for £13 million
Net transfer spend - £33 million spread over 6 players and across 5 seasons, or in other words, 6.6 million wasted per season between 12/13 - 16/17. Truly an extraordinary amount. The latest transfer in that list happened in 16/17, 5 seasons ago. You reckon we have learned from our mistakes?
I’m nothing if not ballsy!Ballsy. You cannot question on here whether he's Pep's kind of player - you'll get slaughtered.

I was intrigued to see that in the Bundesliga he is being outscored by Andre Silva.please be true. I’d break the bank to sign the fella but how good would it be if he came out and said something along the lines of
“I had several opportunities to sign for other established clubs across Europe and England, but I came to who I deem to be the best team in Europe right now and no amount of money from elsewhere would have changed that”
sign on the doted line son!
How many people in this thread have missed the obvious sarcasm in my post? Ffs I replied to another user with data to paint a picture of how efficient and successful we are at transfers, and even the so called failures are cases of nit-picking at best.Sanchez to United 180 m wages
(Amongst others)
Carrol (38m) Liverpool Sold for 14 m
Not sure our figures look that bad to be honest.
I was beginning to wonder whether it was me reading your post wrong ;)How many people in this thread have missed the obvious sarcasm in my post? His best goal for City, off the top of my head.
I'd probably add to that, that the amortisation of the transfers would greatly lessen that outlayRodwell - £12 million, sold for £10 million

Agreed, if Haaland wants to come here, we’ll do whatever we can within reason to bring him here. If he wants to sign for whoever is prepared to pay him the most he won’t be coming here, I can guarantee it. I suspect the Mino roadshow went down very badly with City and Alfie needs to understand how we operate or he might blow this deal for his son.i personally dont like the way this one is heading. i dont like the idea of city being involved in a pure financial battle, where haaland just goes to whoever pays him and raiola the most money. thats not what city is about these days, and i hope if that is the case, we sack this one right off.
I only want players who want to play for city.
last bit sounds like they know and have accepted he’s off for sure now, where to that’s another matter .."Our position is clear: we are planning with Erling,” Dortmund's head of player department Sebastian Kehl told Goal. “We are very relaxed about that. Of course, we have been following the situation. But we had a very, very good talk with Mino and his father just recently.
"I don't want to go into those talks now. From a certain point on, we may no longer be able to influence what the future will bring."
