Sloppy goal to give away , shame but still we have the advantage , i think

Thought we had quite a few bits of sloppy play, but their goal was just bloody good I thought rather than our sloppiness.

I'd be upset if we'd had a goal like that ruled out, but Bellingham did go in studs up, do you can argue that it was dangerous play, even though he got the ball cleanly. I also think we had a perfectly good penalty overturned (a kick out that makes contact with someone's knee is almost always a penalty), but I can also see why they didn't give it.

Studs up? Ha ha you must be bladdered. That was 100% a perfectly good goal

Rodri fucked it by holding his head. If he sold it by holding his knee were he actually got touched it would be given imo

Not at our best but we have a fantastic chance of going through now.

It’s a poor PL this year and the players looked a bit uneasy to be playing against a good side - we know what the script is now though so I think mentally we’ll be better prepared next week.

Our shortcomings were obviously magnified by the better opposition - we need more mobility in midfield and Bernado’s lack of pace meant we couldn’t press effectively - but if we start with the team we finished with I think we should be ok in the return leg.

We’ll need to score but I think we will. And Dortmund have been very inconsistent this year so they could well play worse next week.

it seems people expect us to win 5 0 in a champions league quarter final it very rarely happens.city controlled large parts of the game should have had a couple more and conceded a very good goal.it happens when you play good sides,we looked much better when jesus came on

Exactly this. We restricted the best striker in Europe, a striker we are likely going to smash transfer records for, to a chance and the rest of a good team to a handful. We created more, controlled large parts of the game, and were decent across the pitch. Then again someone on the matchday thread was moaning about us being lucky in the Leicester game. We weren't playing Burton in a league cup quarter final, thia is a good result.

I thought we were pretty shit tonight by our own high standards. I think our recent experiences at this stage, had us playing with the hand break on.

I think that's why Pep decided against playing Aguero, and Sterling, whose Ball retention is really poor, he was worried about Dortmund capitalizing on us losing the Ball near their area and counter attacking' with the Beast Haaland.

Hence it was a bit of a Frankenstein performance.

Even though we were not at our best, on another day we would have scored 3,4 goals.

Point i am making sure we were not great, still we won 2-1 and should have won by more.

They might have a goal or two in them so have we.

And we wont play that bad again.

Dias, Cancelo,Rodri & Gundo were all below par tonight, we will be better next week. Bellingham is a great prospect and it looks like Phil was tapping Haaland up at the end.

I thought more so Ilkay and Rodri. Their passing was shocking at times.
