The Amazing Line Of Duty starts again tonight

swerve after swerve to the point they lose all meaning.

Wonder how they'll manufacture another series out of it given this one they've copied the plot out of the media without an original thought.

Jesus how do people think this is good?

The acting is woeful, some of the worst on any show. That lad looks like Michael Owen, nobody would ever believe he’s a cop ffs. Adrian Dunbar can’t act worth a damn and it’s even made fine actresses like Kelly MacDonald and Thandie Newton a joke.

Go watch The Shield lads and thank me later.

It’s not like he is trying to play the part of Billy the Big Beat Cop.

The character was a firearms officer before he joined AC-12, height isn't n a disadvantage there, might actually be an advantage . Plenty of the SBS are average height or below, quick and nimble.

Dunbar gave a decent performance in Cracker. To be fair to the three main cast members, most of their career has been as supporting actors rather than the stars. If they were top talents or big stars would they have stuck around this long on a police procedural TV series?

Eccleston forced the production team of Cracker to kill him off in the second series because he didn't like playing a minor role.

It is obviously a show that involves thinking.

Anybody without the capacity to think, explore the nuance, examine the characterisation and follow a long convoluted plot will struggle with it.

If you are one of those people CBeebies is available on the iPlayer

Thinking?

A 5 year old could come up with a better way of telling this story. There’s absolutely nothing intelligent going on here lol

It's extremely watchable. The majority of the foreign offerings are better, but it is entertaining nonetheless.
Pity the bbc are ending it whist condemning us to an eternity of Tw#ts Den, Apprentice, Masterc#nt and of course the flagship Stictly Inane, etc etc etc..........

It’s quality, but it peaked with Keeley Hawes in series 2/3, series 1 was also great. Viewers who recognise series 1 will realise the storyline is too similar, which makes it a bit lazy IMO, or is running out of steam.

The bodyguard was great, also. Hawes again. No coincidence.

Late to the Line Of Duty party, but just finished series 1. Brilliant. Looking forward to watch the rest.
Me too but I was attracted by all the rave reviews and have now watched the first three series. They are right up there with the very best of world television.

You can’t half-watch while doing something else. Every twist has to be followed diligently or you lose the plot. Some of the tactics used by the villains seem too complex (and therefore susceptible to error) to be completely believable but that hasn’t detracted from my enjoyment.

Some top casting and acting. Looking forward to picking up from series 4.

It’s interesting the tactics and approaches used both by the villains and the coppers. I remember reading (yonks ago) that some of the forensic techniques in CSI were not (at the time) available in the real world. Some techniques were subsequently developed to increase the police’s capability to fight real crime.
