Confidence player. He seemed OK playing for England last match.
It probably helps him playing for a more supportive fanbase.Confidence player. He seemed OK playing for England last match.
He must surely see that his performances this season have not strengthened his case for improved Ts & Cs, putting the club in a stronger negotiating position. He is seeking a new improved contract he has 2 years remaining.
Why don't we leave that until he shows signs of improvement otherwise players on less money but playing far better will question that decision for sure.
I see what you are saying, but at this stage of the season, experimenting with Sterling to try and get him to regain some form is a difficult conundrum for Pep. Will he take the risk?He needs a new challenge in our team Pep needs have him playing on the right and his purpose is assists! Foden came in the side and his best position was on the right and in the middle Pep stuck him on the left we all thought why hamper a foden playing him out of position!? How wrong were we!? Now either pep thinks Sterling can’t learn or he thinks Sterling can’t do it but one thing Sterling needs to be challenged again in a different position! Or even have him receiving the ball in front of him or he runs on to the ball with through passes more! Always think when Sterling receives the ball back to goal at his feet we are negating his best asset his pace...
12 months ago he was probably in as strong a position as De Bruyne when it came to contract negotiations. Not as naturally talented, obviously, but three years younger and classed as homegrown which will have worked in his favour. Seems highly unlikely he’ll get a deal anywhere near as lucrative as De Bruyne at the moment though. Wouldn’t surprise me if we see little progress on that front for now. With two years left on his current deal it’s not urgent, and both sides might want to see how things pan out on the pitch over the coming months.
Agree with you guys. Best to park contract negotiations for a little while. Renewing with improved terms right now would be totally wrong. Equally, we don’t need to write him off at this stage and put him up for sale.He is seeking a new improved contract he has 2 years remaining.

Good point maybe for next season.. it’s weird pep doesn’t get him doing more of a one two pass like the one he score in a European game last season or season before where he passed it turned ran into the box received the ball shot and scored! I can only remember that type of play once since pep been here!I see what you are saying, but at this stage of the season, experimenting with Sterling to try and get him to regain some form is a difficult conundrum for Pep. I think those 1-2 passes stopped when Silva left, no other player has filled that role since he has left yet.Good point maybe for next season.. it’s weird pep doesn’t get him doing more of a one two pass like the one he score in a European game last season or season before where he passed it turned ran into the box received the ball shot and scored! Anyone got an English translation?Sums up City fans at least Sterling misses chances are best player ever used to square it when he had open goal , I suppose he did flick his hair after it , so all good
Haha! Fair play Jack. To have a go at Silva in a thread about Sterling is some going even for you!Sums up City fans at least Sterling misses chances are best player ever used to square it when he had open goal , I suppose he did flick his hair after it , so all good

He or his agent would have a bloody check asking for a pay rise right now, wouldn't they.Hopefully both parties will see the benefit of not forcing the issue at this very moment. In the event Sterling did force it, though, I’d much rather we sell than renew on enhanced terms.
