A part of his game i highlighted where he could do better, along with others.....but you crack on Big Blue.
Don’t think he could, more importantly though nobody is asking him to, which is why he is rested less than any of our other attacking players except maybe KDB. He is obviously doing whats expected of him and the last few weeks been doing it almost back to his best.

Carragher talked about how strong he was in training and how it's near impossible to barge him off the ball and that was at a time when Carragher was doing just about everything he could to avoid praising Sterling.

I've seen 6'5", 15 stone Yerry Mina do everything he could to bully Raheem and climb all over the back of him only for Sterling to give Mina a piggy back through the centre circle with the ball still at his feet.

For all the criticisms levelled at Sterling, being physically weak is probably the most laughable. Pound for pound, he's almost certainly the strongest in the squad.
Then maybe i should have said he needs to use that strength better.

Or is there another reason i have missed why he loses possession, gets knocked off the ball and falls over alot?

Thought that the last 2 games Sterling has been really improved. Both games he started really slowly but both times grew into the game. Good to see some good direct fast dribbling on the wings to get good crosses in and also good dribbles into the box. Definitely a confidence player.,
Yeah,he has improved in the last couple of games, some very good moments of play and far more direct attacking intent.Along with the negative aspects of his game, just not enough to warrant the adulation or justify the wages he earns.

I wish we had more players who frustrated their way to the number of goals/goal contributions that Raz has! :)
That's ridiculous comment Billy. He has scored goals and made contributions but rarely is there anything exceptional to that aspect of his game, another player could come in and do equally as well, while probably adding more to our play.

You not see the amount of balls he gives away, the inability to hold play up or the runs down blind alleys he predominantly makes.More often than not you know when he receives the ball that little is going to come of it or he'll fluff his lines when through on goal.

The Blue glasses need to come off.

Such a frustrating player. Imagine what we could have achieved with someone who wasn't completely useless.

Why has he got 12 goals and 9 assists in 14 games for England since 2018 if it's all Pep's system?

Why have Sané, Jesus, Mahrez, Torres, Nolito etc. never got close to Sterling's numbers if any old player could do it in Pep's system?

There's so much stupidity to these fucking arguments, just like 2 weeks ago when someone tried to argue he had no intelligence, no technique, no mentality...oh but he's one of the highest scoring players on the planet and one of Pep's favourite players.

This is a site for opinion,so dont tell me how and when to express such.

The lad isn't good or consistent enough, you think different.....crack on.

Opinion is fine but as an a outsider looking in yours has gone beyond that.

even when he’s playing well you only post a positive so it frames a negative.

That’s not a dig as everyone is guilty of this at some point. It’s like we train our brains to only register the narrative we have set. I’ve done it with players in the past, GazBaz took me ages to get past his lack of mobility and my mate was the same with Kev of all people for what seemed like a really unhealthy period of time due to his level of risk with his passing.

I’ll also throw in Ronaldo, who regardless of my obvious hatred for the rags, in my mind wasn’t a very good player. I had ingrained the negatives and chosen to focus only on those and ignore the huge leaps he had made in other areas of his game. I finally acknowledged he might actually be quite good at football when he scored the most goals in Europe and pipped Messi to the Balon’Dor.

its bonkers isn’t it. He has all those things in abundance but to question his intelligence is like questioning Kevs passing range or Eddie’s ability with his feet. His football IQ is why he’s a Peps fave and precisely where his movement and chance creation output stem from.

My personal favourite is on the occasions you actually get people posting he has no intelligence and only scores tap ins.. useless player etc, etc. Priceless lol.
