When we thought we'd get back to games before the end of the season, that would definitely have been by ballot. But the club felt it was only fair to rewards points holders on the cup scheme for this game. We (City Matters) had been pressing the club to give some priority to the highest points holders even in a ballot so we're fully behind the club's move to sell tickets for the League Cup final purely on points. They told my wife a couple of weeks ago when they phoned her on Courtesy call that all games until the end of the season would be done by Ballot, so don't think they know what's going on
But it’s not being sold purely on points is it ? It’s doesn’t matter how many points you have if you live in the wrong postcode .When we thought we'd get back to games before the end of the season, that would definitely have been by ballot. No. All non stop at the club's request. One in each direction calls at Watford to provide another Wembley connection option.
I don't blame the club - they are trying to sort out something with all the authorities at short notice. Its the rules imposed by the FA etc who are dictating how we get there yet travel by the general public is going on around us all day!!Absolutely it should be free. Utter disgrace charging 80 / 130 quid for train knowing how fiscally impacted a lot of fans have been. The club could have done the right thing here and laid on all trains and coaches for free and it would have cost them, relatively, buttons. A show of support, a sign that they’re putting fans first. The government or FA or FL should have made the whole thing free. Peanuts to them. And what happens if you’ve shelled out 130 on train plus ticket money and you ping positive on a lateral flow that’s 60% accurate at best? No sign of a refund. The club could have done so so much better on this.
Almost certainly a ballot but we're still discussing some key details. don't really want to say any more than that. But it’s not being sold purely on points is it ? It’s doesn’t matter how many points you have if you live in the wrong postcode .
Just out of interest what are City Matters pushing for with the Everton game , last league game of the season seeing that it’s only a few weeks away.
Fair question. And what's the answer? But it’s not being sold purely on points is it ? It’s doesn’t matter how many points you have if you live in the wrong postcode .

I've no idea what the entry criteria will be I'm afraid.would i need photo ID to get in? (Season ticket holder for 30 years+) I know i've gone on about it before (sorry), but i'm trying to get a citizens card from uk gov, and as i've never had photo ID before i need a referee to prove who i am, such as a GP. But my GP surgery have informed me this week they no longer offer that service (i know they used to do it, even though you had to pay). So i'm a bit panicked.... I need to get an application off next week, but have no one on their list of referees i can use thanks to my bloody doctors not bothering "in the covid climate".
You're meant to be a rep for us, you should be consulting us for our views, not hiding behind secrecy (speaking as a someone who was a senior union rep).Almost certainly a ballot but we're still discussing some key details. don't really want to say any more than that.

Why do you think it would have been fairer? Every away game including semis and finals where demand exceeds supply has gone via points, why should this be different?Hi Prestwich.
It's been a really difficult call for us all.
I have my ticket, and train travel, which I'm thankful for.
Personally though:
I've had a season ticket for over 20 years
I've been to grounds I never thought I would in England - that was an eye opener lol
I've been to grounds I never thought I would in Europe
I've been lucky financially - which is key here.
I do believe, in this instance, that a ballot would have been fairer
To be honest, I don’t think there’s more than 15,000 tops on the League Cup scheme and it only went down to 16,500 points today. Plenty of regular fans on high points who would normally be all over this - me for one - aren’t bothering but at least that allows others on lower points to get a ticket if they fancy going. Those remaining tickets will shift over the weekend IMOVery few tickets sold today its quite amazing, I thought they would have gone but looks like very few want to go, I know its a bit of a faff but its a Cup final, its City, it will be different but am going to support our club.
I googled it, and it sends you to a government site, then it should give you the closest one to your post code, you can book a day and time, but a lot are walk in, but some don't open on a Saturday so be careful as you need to get one after 13:30 on the Saturday before the game, the club have also said they will be giving more details ?.I have just been on the web site and am shocked the tickets have not been snapped up. Maybe the process of getting to the game is the deciding factor. I have been trying to use the links provided from the club to find my local "rapid lateral flow test site" in Preston. I have not managed to establish where the test site is located or how to book it.
The link eventually takes you to a Lancashire web site but no details of where of how to book it. Getting it done on Saturday afternoon is going to be very difficult.I googled it, and it sends you to a government site, then it should give you the closest one to your post code, you can book a day and time, but a lot are walk in, but some don't open on a Saturday so be careful as you need to get one after 13:30 on the Saturday before the game, the club have also said they will be giving more details ?.
If I’m not mistaken , I thought you could just turn up to these sites without booking?I have just been on the web site and am shocked the tickets have not been snapped up. Lancashire CC doesn't have locations where you can take an LFD test on site.If I’m not mistaken , I thought you could just turn up to these sites without booking?

Someone said there were 800 left last night, we still have over 700 tonight, am not certain about these figures, but yes it should give some on lower points a good chance. To be honest, I don’t think there’s more than 15,000 tops on the League Cup scheme and it only went down to 16,500 points today.
