How many trophies will we win?

There is much truth in this.

We've arguably overachieved this season.

Dias has improved us but we're virtually the same squad we were in 2019. No-one can tell me that Ake and Torres adequately replace David Silva and Leroy Sane.

Let's just get the league won and see everything else as a free hit. The cups are always a bonus, the league is the staple.

With pep rotating the way he is nothing is certain

Spurs are poor BUT in a one off game with Son and Kane (mayeb if not injured) and the other forwards they have if we again play a weakened team we could lose as we did vs Chelsea

the league as ive said is far from over.....we need a favour off Burnely but I cannot see that.....and tehn we play villa...we could either be 5 pts in front or still 8pts in front after our villa game......5 pts and it becomes a 2 horse race again

The CL - even at our best we will struggle as there are 3 very good teams in it besides us

Disappointed but a true reflection on our squad. We have too many players who go missing when it matters and are unfortunately not good enough. The 28 run was amazing and the collective effort fantastic but once players came back we have moved away from that system and looked like the team that started the season. The problem for me is that we have too many squad players who are big names but don’t deliver. Cut the squad in the summer.

If we can the club need to be ruthless.

Move out:
Mendy
Sterling he has peaked.
Mahrez only due to age and resale value.
Kun & fern leaving.

Bring in youth and pace to compliment the team. We all know our underbelly is the slow midfield. Bring the league home and continue the rebuild in the summer.

Haaland, 17 year old at Dortmund and jack would be fantastic but we prob don’t have the funds. 2 new players needed at a min.

I think we've had a good go at juggling all four competitions but now it's time to prioritise the league and give the CL a good go. The lack of KDB may kill us off in Europe but if we go full strength for the league then it should not matter. Whatever happens, if we win the league then it's a great season regardless of anything else.

Absolutely if someone had offered the Dippers bringing our title back down the M62 in May , i would have bitten their hands off , the cups are a nice distraction , the league is the real deal.

I think we'll be very strong on Wednesday. Pep had a go at winning all four and now it's not on he'll prioritise the most important competitions. If we prioritise the league and have a good go at the CL then I'm happy. Just win the league. I'm happy for the League Cup to fall by the wayside in pursuit of the CL.

Agree with virtually all of that post but I think Mahrez survives. No need to move him on yet. Sterling is quickly running out of credit.
 
A few random views tonight so I’m gonna stick them in this thread as thought it was most apt

it’s a testament to this team and manager that they’re so far clear in the league and were even still competing for all 4 trophies up to today, given the fact we have no top class striker in the squad. Even our first choice XI look a bit toothless at times without one. Imagine how much better we’d be with a world class striker on the pitch who could grab a goal out of nothing, get his head on one of the dozens of crosses we fire in per game and score the odd worldie. Has to be the priority in the summer, I’d be happy with just that one signing

around January time some fans were suggesting we were a better team without KDB. While I never gave that theory one ounce of credence, I admit that back then we did have good options to come in when he got that injury. I don’t see them now tbh

Sterling, Jesus, Torres, Fernandinho and Cancelo are all out of form. Bad time for that to happen.

if we manage to get past PSG, and it’s a big if, then the notion that the final will be easy is well gone tonight

These gloating fans of other clubs are gonna be ten times worse than tonight if we don’t win the CL. I’m not looking forward to that

you would think he would go strong in a cup semi final - playing Mendy, Sterling torres says differently

Ask these gloating fans to explain why no other team had a chance of a quad but city. Fans talk nonsense to wind each other up. Take it on the chin. I guarantee we win more this year than the other 99% of football clubs.
 
If we win the premier league I will be over the moon and the season will be a success and if we win the champions league and league cup then great season but the premier league comes first and if it’s just that then so be it. We will have won it he league 3 times in 4 years and that takes some doing.
