We should of taken a stand and not joined. im so dissapointed in the club.

We certainly could have done but we would have become, in effect, a 2nd tier club. We wouldn't have the budget of the Super League teams and we probably wouldn't be able to attract and keep the best players, I appreciate that some of us would prefer that to being founding members of this new competition but it clearly isn't what our owners have invested so much in us for.

I don't like it at all but I do understand why we have gone down this path.

We were the last to sign up, it sounds like we’d been given “an offer we couldn’t refuse” in the Godfather sense.

I’m dead against the idea of the Super League, but if we’d not signed up and it went ahead, the club might not even be viable in its current form.

We were dammed if we do, damned if we don’t.
They’ve come up with something which has completely out-manoeuvred us by the look of it. I think in relative terms we’ll lose some of our competitive advantage here.

At least the players and their agents will be happy. KDB must be gutted he's signed a new contract already. Sterling is already drawing up a new and improved contract on the back of this news.

We will lose every advantage here. Other clubs can now match up to us in facilities too. 55% spending ratio means the clubs with prestige get the best players.

Same offer from City and Barca? Player goes to Barca 8 out of 10.

Any protests being planned? Wanna put this on a banner with ARE YOU NOT EMBARRASSED written on it :)

hence why I’m convinced they’ll have a salary cap.

We have sold our integrity for a quick buck.

it’s so strange because after all we fought for against Uefa to keep in the CL so we could compete at the highest i’d have always backed City to keep being at the top but this is just wrong.

Rather a second tier club with heart and real fans playing other clubs with heart and real fans than this.

Actually I almost remember reading somewhere years ago, when he was Barcelona's director, about Soriano coming with this idea of creating some sort of "superliga", not sure if this is a continuation of this idea. More likely this is an American push to create a soccer superleague

FFP is about to come back with a vengeance if this goes ahead.
How can they punish us if we are not participating in their competition? Unless you mean the premier leagues version of FFP?

Are we not inside the tent now pissing out?

Uefa won’t stop coming for us. I expect a new case against us before the ink drys. Interesting times ahead. I hope the club comes out of this relatively unscathed.

i was glad to cross in semis my fav british team, today i m disgusted. Shame on city liverpool united and the rest. Shame shame shame.

But does that not just say it all? What have we agreed to here....being 1/15th or 20th of viable clubs in Europe, while the rest of the European football clubs go out of existence? I’m not sure I can get on board with the “I’m alright Jack” attitude if I know my club has potentially helped put an end to 50+ other English clubs and countless others across Europe.

Between a rock and a hard place is the phrase that springs to mind. I don’t like it either. But seems to me the whole financial edifice of European football was crumbling,
accentuated and accelerated by covid, and this is where we’ve ended up. Not good.
