if uefa comes up with this idea instead of champions league it would have been great and wow cant wait for this to happen ? but its because its a break away format

its going to happen and little things will need changing like slots for other teams like title winners given a place each season and uefa will need to reform and back the super league or go bust. i can see uefa doing a u-turn and back the super league and the premier league will have to back it

if the players want it then its going to happen ? the premier league is safe its uefa and fifa will lose out
all its changing is midweek eoropean football champions league ? its just another renaming of the shit we are dished up called champions league

I feel exactly the same way as I did learning about it yesterday - our club has aligned itself with the red tops that we have despised for years and in doing so completely alienating the fanbase.

I am absolutely livid.............

I'm sceptical about the super league, more so than you I think - more of a 'don't wanna be in in the tent' than 'want to be inside it pissing out' - but anyone thinking that the league is somehow designed to hurt City is wrong. It's about the biggest and richest clubs, including City, collectively taking more control of the competitions they play in, to give themselves more bargaining power over UEFA and the broadcasters (or to ultimately become their own broadcasters, maybe).

City are a powerhouse now and have no intention of giving up that status. The Sheikh spent a billion quid achieving it.

We no longer have any moral leverage, we can no longer accuse the American owners of being the leeches that they are. We have become all we have despised over the years and that’s the hardest thing for me to wrap my head around.

Maybe he knew already during negotiations for his extended contract & was ok about it .
He has recently said to the media that all football authorities were flogging the players to death during this pandemic .

I’m not sure the any of the clubs will care about fan movements and boycotts.

The pandemic has shown how clubs don’t need fans, neither do the games on tele as they just computer generate atmosphere, and the money involved in this is massive and would make up for any shortfall in attendance money.
