It would alter the fan experience of every single club in Europe. The clubs who are striving to get better and compete with the "elite" (Arsenal, elite in midtable, lol!) like Leicester and West Ham, Sevilla, Atalanta etc. will not be able to compete in this competition. They won't be allowed in. The clubs who dream that their fortunes change and they get invested in, even if they’re as slim as owt, will die.

Also, who the hell do you think were behind all the UEFA moves and motives to try and stop City over the years? You guessed it... the people from the clubs we’re getting into bed with!

Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer the saying goes!
As for clubs getting in and out I understand there will be a promotion and relegation system in place. It will however probably mean you will be unlikely to be able to make an away trip to Ludogrets, Poznań or Donetsk in years to come. Is that really a big miss?? (Of course it is for the football purists but it wold be offset by regular visits to Madrid, Barcelona and Milan among others....)

This Kaveh fella on SSN apparently getting quotes from a founder member board member. What a load of shite. There is no way someone at the board at one of these clubs has reached out to him to give him all this info.

If it's anything like his transfer sources, I'd take it with a bloody great big pinch of salt.

I cannot understand how we've got involved with this. Khaldoon may have his hands tied, but with all the community investment and acknowledgements constantly about Citys history and status as a peoples club, it is shameful we are part of it. Some of the clubs are billions in debt and you can see that this must be a desperate move by them to rectify that, but we don't have any debt so this is simply greed. And a competition that doesn't involve huge clubs that are community led (Bayern, Dortmund etc) is never going to be an elite competition anyway. Arsenal?? FFS

I can't believe any English club would ever quit the PL which is much more lucrative than any European competition. Nor would the PL throw out the big clubs. This is a fight between the US owners and UEFA and City are stuck in the middle. The irony of course is that the CAS decision in our favour made UEFA's position in this battle even weaker which may not help us in the long run.
Not only the UEFA, the US owners and the 12 have basically declared war on FIFA to which the UEFA and all national football federations are affiliated. There's no way the FIFA is going to let it happen and let their competitions undermined and all the money go away.

Their ban threats are very real, they won't back down and should the 12 go all the way through, then all bets are off.

What’s being said?
Top 6 club board member has said they'd be willing to leave the premier league, all about profit and revenue, wider football good is secondary to revenues, weakened teams to be played in premier league if needs be.

Other 14 premier league clubs lobbying premier league to kick out the 6 english clubs from the league with immediate effect.

Sadly (can't believe I wrote that) Ferguson has no pull whatsoever anymore.
I read this morning that Sir Red Nose said he wasnt party to the decision. I thought he was a Director of United.

This decision must have been taken at Board level and must have been ratified by a Board vote.

I can only conclude 1. He’s lying or 2. He wasnt at the board meeting and they had a quorum sufficient to carry the vote.

It is entirely possible the owners only invited enough Directors to the meeting to form a quorum and didn’t invite those they thought would oppose the Vote.

I now expect he will do the honourable thing and resign. Btw, where’s his mate Bobby Charlton. Isn‘t he also a Director? He’s been very quiet.

Is he still talking really slow and taking pauses to pretend as if he is being secretive what he is sharing?

And this is exactly the kind of absurd hysteria I'm talking about...
it's a funny old thing, perspective.

i remember reading many, many years ago about a proposed super league with euro teams taking part. it was rubbished back then. "never happen" i said it myself

now here we are. so let's look to the future, shall we?

"ESL up and running, and profitable. lots of new touristy fans turning up for their day out with their selfie sticks. but, whats that? there are 3 teams within 30 miles of each other in the north of england in the league? and 3 teams in london? thats no good, too concentrated.
lets spread them around a little.... lets move them to berlin, or munich, as their leagues are not involved, so we will give them a euro club to go see. two milan clubs? lets move them apart as well, stick one in Paris.

we have good feedback from the far east, lets play the City v Barca game there this year. think of the viewing figures, and we have a new sponsor in that region.

hang on, Boca Juniors want to join? ok, lets get them in. we can create a 2 tier league with 40 teams.... hang on, a world series league? how much money are we talking? ....dont worry the masses will go for it!!"

The more I think about it the more I'm convinced VAR was brought in without fans being in mind. It's so anti live football and fits the NFL structure perfectly with "ad breaks" etc. Plus millionaires betting don't want to lose money because of "luck" going the wrong way.

Could well be right, VAR decision quickly turns into a 10 second ad slot for budweiser etc etc

Well fucking said, and the post of the topic so far. I wouldn't want to be in the trenches with the majority on here, I know that for bleeding sure.

Only a few people are actively cheering against City. I've noticed you trying to paint the No voters as somehow not Blues but it's as wrong as those who do the same for the 60 Yes people.

It's precisely that I love this club, my club, that I'm devastated they are eschewing their morality, history and everything they stand for to jump in bed with cunts like the Glazers.

Thing is that most of the supporters won't be able to attending half of the games your club will be playing. The first ones getting shafted by this awful idea are the fans, yet some are still getting on board with it. Talk about being short-sighted.

Very few clubs, if any, of those who have joined will have any trouble filling the away end for every ESL game.

Could you point out where i've said they aren't Blues please?

No, but they weren't embarrassed when we could overtake clubs who, at that point, were bigger than us because we could go out and buy whoever we wanted, throwing money at it for fun to get us in a position where we could compete, and now dominate?

I'm not just saying this now because of this announcement, but I have always wondered if the investment was how it looked from the outside, or if there was a more long-term plan. I think this is that. The SL plan has been rumoured for ages. Do you think Sheikh Mansour would not have been looking into this for a long term plan for his investment? I do.

People can't be happy at someone coming in and doing what he has done, completely wiping out the competition for the majority of honours in the process, then say they are embarrassed when we join a competition for the clubs we have wanted to be - the giants of the game in other words. One leads from the other, and for me personally I think this is what the plan was all along. It is extremely hypocritical to be ok with the first part, but then not want the second part. Can you imagine what fans of other clubs would say if fans of our club start harping on about turning their back on the club, after a decade of feasting on the fruits of the Sheikh's investment?
This project ensures that there can never be another Sheikh Mansoor or Khaldoon Al Mubarak. There can never be another Man City, or not another story like we have had since the takeover. Because you can't take a team to the top anymore. It's just like the NFL.
