I feel that strongly about this.

That i would be happy for our owners to sell up and fuck off, go and find another Club. I am really upset, we have become what we so despise a Rag clone Club,

And before anyone says don't be ridiculous, how would we ever survive.

We have been around for 125 years. Sure we have been up and down more than a hookers knickers' will give you that.

But all through that time we have had a very solid fan base. A local. Working class club, with a feeling of togetherness as fans, a feeling of us against the World. All together for one love City.

Make no mistake our owners singled us out for buying because of that solid support base. We have always been a top 6 Club.

Dont get me wrong i was happy we were bought. A sleeping Giant was awakened. But let us not forget our owners got as much out of this relationship as us, they got all the publicity they were after. We got the success we badly desired, and deserved.

I didn't like looking around the ground seeing tourists with Cameras that came with that success ,with no affinity to City, but accepted it was a price we had to pay. it grated on me that friends i religiously went to the game with were priced out of watching a team they loved though.

This to me right now though is going way too far, our owners are taking the Piss. Manchester City is our football Club, they had no fucking right to use our Club like this without consulting fans groups first. They are nothing more than short term custodians of our great football Club. You don't get to do what ever the fuck you want with it. Shitting all over our working class heritage, then using quotes from the Glaziers on the City Website...i mean really wtf is that about ? Sure market the brand, with your own. No one has a problem with that.

To make such a fundamentally important decision without consulting fans is beyond words. I am not surprised fans from all 6 Clubs are apoplectic with rage.
Spot on, I started to get worried when people claimed our rivalry with Liverpool was bigger than the derby.

I have no axe to grind with Mesut Ozil but ffs, this guy was happy to sit in the stands earning £350k per week whilst low paid workers were being furloughed, I mean come on, if this isn’t an example of how football has disappeared up its own hole I don’t know what is.
for what’s it’s worth I was very much against the Premier League, I knew where it was going, subscription, razzmatazz and lots of money for the greedy bastards. I feel the same way about this latest power grab but I don’t think City have much of a choice, if we said no they would offer our place to another club.

looks like £300m handshake/joining money cannot be used on transfer, only infrastructure, which is of no benefit to us. so were in the tent pissing out, but with limited benefit.......I can't square this.
that will come in handy for Barcas rotten concrete, and Madrids scary staircases, and Utds leaking roof and milans bomb site.... so transparent what this is. what do we spend it on? a new bigger bridge across the main road?

But if the clubs in the SL wins the legal battle that has already started about not being expelled from domestic comps etc surely we the FA and FL will get the same treatment.....legally speaking.,,,,?
They won't be able to leave UEFA comps and compete in FA comps mate, one is a subsidiary of the other.

Players will play wherever the money is. No player is going to turn down £300k pw at an ESL club, so they can earn £10k at West Ham and play for England.
Then I'd say it gives more negotiating power to PSG/Bayern. They can still earn £300k pw there and continue playing for their countries.

Seperate the club from the players , for the remaiing games of the season we have to be behind them
I’ll be behind whoever pulls on our shirt for every game they play for as long as I’m breathing Kaz.

The fans that have decided they’ll be supporting PSG or Villa against City are welcome, of course, to support anyone they wish in any game they wish. No one is forced to like, love or hate anyone or anything in football, life or love. I feel sad for them as I can’t comprehend what it must feel like for them to feel that way though. I certainly wouldn’t call them names or tell them what to think. It’s all a very sad state of affairs.

I wish the Yank and Madrid based owners that came up with this and put City in the position they did would fuck off though.

I've just watched that Kaveh guy on Sky Sports say that an owner of one of the 6 PL clubs would be happy to leave the PL if they were asked to because of the riches on offer.

Makes me sick. Surely competition is the main driver for any club and this bullshit Super League is void of that, it's a glorified Audi Cup where nobody cares if you win it or not.

It's hollow, the whole point of football is celebration and an aim to win something at the end of a gruelling season/campaign in a cup competition rather than a bunch of friendlies - catered to kids or audiences who want to purely see the best players - where the only real reward is money. No prestige, no pride, no history, nothing. I'd find it hard to believe that any player would gear themselves up to play in it.

Imagine their only competitive action was this and the Euros/Copa/AFCON/World Cup. It's wasting their careers away so people higher up can get some money in their pockets.

The club hiding behind the line of 'we couldn't afford to be left behind' is a slap in the face too. Being backed into a corner by the same clubs who have been out to get us for 12 years, fighting them in the stands, behind the scenes, press conferences, on the pitch only to back down. Fuck off.

It's the death of the game as we know it.
I don't believe a fucking word that guy says, you really think an owner would speak to him and say that, it hasn't happened

unreal that their was zero fan consultation on this.
They don't give a fuck about us anymore.
I have it on very good authority that MUST had a meeting with United a couple of months back. One of the things they brought up with the club was this idea of a European Super League as there was talk of it in the media back in February. They asked the United rep if it really was a thing and they categorically denied that it was.

Fucking lying bastards

This is EXACTLY what the owners want ffs. They want players to become commodities, turn clubs into franchises, play when required. It would actually suit ESL smh

You're probably right but it's not aimed at the owners, it's targeting the players, that's the angle here and the best line of defence. Players will be knocking the door down to leave if they're told they can't play for their country if they are play for a super league club.
Still absolute radio silence from any players or managers involved with this ESL. That silence speaks volumes. Would not suprise me if they have been told to say nothing in case of lawsuits.
You can put every penny you have on every single member of staff being dragged into a meeting yesterday before this broke and told under no uncertain terms you do not comment on this. Pep will be briefed and briefed again before thrown infront of the cameras for his press conference. Every club will be sat on their hands praying the first one to break rank and publicly oppose it isn't one of theirs.

The thing that sickens me (and I'm sure I'm not the first to mention it, but I'm not going through 400+ pages) is that, IIRC, the other 5 were all signatories to that infamous letter. And now we've climbed into bed with them.
Money trumps 99.9% of all known principles.

It'#s really not the "death of the club". It's a change in football's structure, like the abolition of maximum wage, formation of the premier league or the champions league. Just to reiterate, I don't want it or like it, but it is not going to change the club's badge, history or location and it is certainly not "the death" of the club. We are already a big franchise, we've changed the club's badge several times and we've even moved location.

Macc Town are going to have full houses every week, along with Bolton, Stockport...

I wonder how many people whinging about this actually run businesses?

So we could get drawn in the same group as United then if we both qualify for the knock out phase face them again.

6 derbies in a season. Welcome to Glasgow.

I think it was a case of being damned if we dor or damned if we don't. Coming so soon after 'The Big Picture' attempt to reorganise was so quickly shot down it seems like the elite clubs were never going to stop trying until they get what they want. Sadly, this attempt has more traction and the only way of stopping it is if UEFA/FIFA and the domestic leagues all agree to stick to their guns and throw any club associated with this move out of their respective competitions. We know that the historical big clubs want protectionism for their revenue streams and this is the way they have chosen to go about preserving the cash flows mainly in their direction.

I might sound Naive here, but I’d rather be at a “disadvantage” regarding players, money, etc, than join this shit show. Getting into bed with the very teams, that sought to derail us? Yes Uefa were guilty too, but this fuckin stinks. Thought we’d have a bit more bottle about us, I understand the thinking about “not wanting to be left behind”. However given the choice, I know what I’d be fuckin choosing.
No, you sound like a football fan to me. I've no idea what they'll call people who follow the ESL.

A big "FUCK YOU!" to City and to anyone who is anything less than disgusted with our club for being part of this
Seems my previous post about name calling and telling people what to think isn’t shared by everyone though...

They won't be able to leave UEFA comps and compete in FA comps mate, one is a subsidiary of the other.
I thought the idea was to stay in the UEFA comps as well.....basicaly this SL is just another competition (20 team league split into 2 group of 10 with knockout games at the end of it)..I know UEFA are saying they are going to sanction clubs/players that play in this league BUT if they are beaten on this legally and no sanctions can be put in place wouldnt it mean that the Super League is just basically another competition (but only open to the elite 15 members plus 5 others every year?
Sorry if I have got this wrong
