CFG Expansion | Başakşehir to join? (p70)

If our owners do, in fact, decide that their interests are served by signing up with the avaricious, mercenary twats who are engaged in setting up this so-called 'Super League', let them use the CFG to retain an outlet for the passions of those of us who'll never find it in themselves to go along with that project. Keep Manchester City as the CFG outfit in domestic English football and hive off City FC as a global franchise venture joining the other participants in the greed-driven supranational circus.

I don't care if the international City FC keeps the players and the sponsorship contracts. Let them play at the Etihad, too, when they aren't globetrotting to pull in money from international fans in New York, Abu Dhabi, Mumbai, Shengdu, Melbourne or wherever. Manchester City would be my team, even if they struggled to cobble together cash and a team for next season, ending up doing a Sheffield United.

No doubt this is pie in the sky. But it's about the only way I can see right now that I'll still be on board in some way with the 'project' if ADUG and the other CFG shareholders elect to throw in their lot with the Super League plans.

If guayaquil city become part of the cfg, we will go and see a few games when the crowds are back. Have seen Bolivar play a couple of times, they are a decent club

What’s taken you to that part of the world was it a bit of treck to get to the Bolivar game

So how many 18 year-olds go straight into the first-team squad?

At 18, players are still eligible for the Youth Cup, which is contested by lads from the Academy
I meant players outside the UK.
A Premier league club can no longer play an U 18 player from outside the UK excepting Ireland in any agd group.
A UK player cannot play for a teamm outside the UK unless they are 18.
ie. In the future the likes of Bellingham would not be able to play with Dortmund and Garcia could not have signed for us.
In future all academy players, U 16s etc can only be from the UK

So did I.

If overseas players can join us at 18, they will play for the 18s team or the EDF.

Both parts of our Academy.

Is that true?

I thought the changes were coming about as a result of British laws. We can't impose them on clubs in other countries.

Just copied this from BBC sports

Sancho and Bellingham both decided to join Borussia Dortmund aged 17 but the new rules prevent any Under 18s making cross-border moves.

I think it is reverting to the general FIFA regulations because we have left the EU and the EEA. There are still provisions were it can be circumvented e. g if a player's family were to move country.

Cases like Sancho and Bellingham weren't the intended primary target of the regulations, they went straight into the first team. Most of the cases where clubs have been sanctioned involve shady dealings to move youth players into development squads.

You may be right. It is very confusing as the number of oversea 's U21s has been capped as well

There are reports of clubs adopting sky blue and looking like a CFG member, even tho they are not. Weird.

me and mrs jules lived in bolivia for 1 1/2 years, we used to go to every wilsterman home game and saw boliver twice.

And your now in Ecuador I went to Quito and quiquil Galapagoes and out in the outback a few years ago on holiday

You must have a interesting life and job out there or be a drug deal / smuggler haha if you spending so long in South America

Has CFG consulted the Barnachea fans if they want to be part of the CFG group or have they wiped their history aswell?
