I hope so mate. This is like a bad fucking dream.I think when they announce the predictable U-turn then there will be a collective sigh of relief and will be soon forgotten.

Why?
You do know this is the same man currently bankrolling a league 2 up the pyramid? Had no issue accepting millions from the glazers, building businesses off the back of the rags name and has a job at Sky purely because of his past.
Exactly what it is. Carra admitted it earlier stating they had meetings with people at sky this afternoon. Sky are driving the narrative. Same way they do with everything. The aguero elbow anyone. Going on about it enough inevitably changes minds. They will suffer financially as a result and have the most to lose
The problem these 14 PL clubs have is what if the big 6 say ok?
What's even more funny is Carragher "We need players and managers to speak out now to help this"...The irony of SKY pundits bleating about a closed shop and money ruining the game.
It’s about football in general and Neville is happy living off the back of the rags and owning a football team himself fucking up the league pyramid but doesn’t like it when someone has the audacity to tell him to fuck off. Clearly going to have to agree to disagree here. This isn't about Sky or Salford City or the Manchester rivalry, not in any way. Please don't let your prior feelings about Gary Neville cloud your judgement.
This Super League proposal will end football as we know it if it goes ahead and the only small chance we have of preventing it is if everyone puts their rivalries aside for a while and pushes collectively. When it's in the mud you can go back to hating him all you want.
I don't think there's any way the rags or dippers can get away from this. They're all in. Chelsea could gazzump us I guess. The danger here is tomorrow United and Liverpool withdraw from the super league citing “we have listened to our fans” and the whole charade crumbles and City are left holding the baby while the red shites are forever sanctified as “the teams that saved football from City”.
We need to get out ahead of this. If not tonight then first thing tomorrow.
I have faith in Pep. I hope he comes out swinging against this.
Government are threatening to not police any esl matchesThen you go with it and pray that regulations come in from the government etc...
Fans of the big 6 come together and turn their back on the 'Super' league. We can't half arse this one.
City have a great opportunity here. Do the right thing and almost overnight the hatred of who we are and what we represent will change.
You may be correct. But if any team is going to bring this idea down it has to be us. If not, when the dust has setttled it will be remembered as “do you remember that time City tried to kill football and team X saved us?”I don't think there's any way the rags or dippers can get away from this. They're all in. Chelsea could gazzump us I guess.
I’ve read hundreds of pages of this thread today and there’s still something I just can’t get my head around.
15 founders that never get relegated but 5 that can right?
So, they get 5 teams to make up the 20 (let’s imagine they’ve got their 15), who potentially cause a shit storm with threatened sanctions from their own leagues on leaving and put themselves at risk of relegation if they don’t perform?
Will their respective leagues welcome them back with open arms like long lost sons whilst preparing to wave off the next lamb to the slaughter?
Who willingly signs up for this in their right mind?
This is potentially every 1st tier league in Europe held to ransom by welcoming back the failures at one time or another!
Am I missing something?
And like they said, this is now a time for a truce between all the fans of all the rivals, this is bigger than that!So because they work for Sky - they’re not allowed to disapprove of this proposal ?
You think these two actually want this Super League ? Which would pretty make them the only people who do.
the truth is, they have lived there whole lives in football, they’re passionately involved and just like everyone on here - they don’t want it ruined.
I hope they stand firm and then we have to back out. I'd rather play West Ham, Leicester, Wolves etc... every week than European elite. I'm not losing the Premier League for the fucking Super League.
At least we can go to the away games in the Premier League!
I'm 63 and football from the sixties and seventies has gone forever so I'm not shocked. It does look like TV has won out over match going fans but we knew that already. The key point for me in all this is the protected status of the chosen few, if they compromise and make it on merit rather than global appeal then it would ultimately just be a champions league replacement which I could live with. If however the Usain Bolts of the football world insist on being given a 10metre start then the competiveness will die. Interestingly it looks like most of us prefer Stoke on a wet Monday than Barcelona 4 times a season.
Jesus..... that'll happen.Government are threatening to not police any esl matches
Enjoy being also ran in new plastic leagueI can’t watch these 2 cunts on sly telling the world how unfair competition is now and they are united as 1. Disingenuous cretins.
listening to the bleat on about both their clubs and their glorious past is vomit inducing. I am changing my vote to yes just so I don’t have to listen to these wankers in the future.
I’m wholeheartedly against the ESL, but they’re getting a bit sickening nowI can’t watch these 2 cunts on sly telling the world how unfair competition is now and they are united as 1. Disingenuous cretins.

United and Liverpool have ruined football not the super league.
Regardless of the outcome, pound to a penny we're getting a large proportion of the blame for this. The danger here is tomorrow United and Liverpool withdraw from the super league citing “we have listened to our fans” and the whole charade crumbles and City are left holding the baby while the red shites are forever sanctified as “the teams that saved football from City”.
