This definitely isn’t going ahead now.

I think they’ve misjudged the backlash they would get for this.

Tory government now saying they’ll ban foreign transfers and won’t allow clubs to obtain visas for players.
I remember the torys saying they wouldn’t allow children to go hungry and how Brexit was oven ready. How did they go?

We have been played like a fiddle by united, liverpool and the spanish clubs. Absolutely played like a fiddle.

we have just voted to remove our position as one of the most powerful clubs in the uk, with a future that only contains good news, and instead voted to make ourselves literally subservient to United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Juventus and Madrid.

We’ve gone from winning 50% of the next 8 or 10 titles as well as god knows how many domestic cups to finishing mid table at best in this new league as there is no way the clubs that have been trying to cripple us for 10 years will suddenly now treat us as equals.

Played like a fiddle.

And the worst thing is, we weren’t just out manoeuvred - we bloody voted for it.

Voted to give our 5 biggest enemies in world football literal control over us.

How can ANY blue be anything other than 100% opposed to this?

We better hurry up about it, cos we wait to long and it'll look like we've been forced into it.
I was hoping for a club statement tonight and not from the fucking Glazers.

I don’t want to read the words “Vice President Joel Glazer” on our website ever again and if the person who ok’d that is still in a job, they need sacking pronto!

To be fair he does have a point on that one.
He probably thinks this is happening just because they'ce launched it. It wont happen. As if the rest of football is going to let them do this. In spain, 3 clubs maybe all powerful, but in England this is not so. It will fall. Writing already on the wall. MPs from Newcastle, Leeds , Birmingham etc will be lining up with bills to stop this. I don't know how they'd do it but presumably they'd find a way. It is after all very anticompetitive

Reading between the lines it looks like several of the founder members were in shit creek financially and probably couldn’t sustain losses for too much longer.
This is a lifeline for them which makes our joining even worse.
Had we held our nerve we would have had every chance of being the top team/club in Europe for the next decade due to our financial stability.
Now it looks like we are going along with the ride only to be shoved in the back seat and told to keep our mouths shut.

Surely JP Morgan in all this might be having second thoughts
They’re just another set of Yank shysters.

They were one of the main, if not #1, player in the reason for the 2007 financial crash, they were bailed out for $188bn and only had to pay $13bn in settlements... and they are currently just finalising paying billions out in fines for something else.

That's one of the most disheartening things about this. There's no good guy on either side. Just greed and corruption and self serving motives by all involved, City included, which breaks my heart

That's one of the main reasons why I cannot get angry or outraged about the proposals. Yes, I disagree with them but this concept of creating a closed shop started with FFP. Fans of non CL clubs called us cheats over the FFP fiasco as they regarded the rules as fair and just. Well, the wankers can choke on their tears for all I care.
