They have spent years trying to destroy us, now they can band together and destroy usfrom within and we end up with nothing , we are not even vice presidents for a reason, junior partners

and what will pep do ?
Ha, and you ask me not to be naive!
You are basically accusing the club of being the same. I'm pretty sure the brains and hierarchy of the club know exactly what they are doing, and won't be sat in a dark room worrying that UEFA are doing this to destroy us.

As for Pep? He may have known about this for some time, and will relish attempting to dominate the new competition his club is part of.

I can see then taking us for a ride. If we all get banned from domestic comps and then they find a way to ban us from the ESL, where do we go from there?
Where do we go in your conspiracy theory theoretical? I’m not even remotely interested tbh because it’s not rational.

What's brought this on is the pandemic, the clubs have realised that they don't really need the fans to make money. We're just surplus to requirements.
convenient as well that the inevitable supporters protests outside the respective clubs is not possible and you have crowd control sorted in one swoop - crafty fuckers

The proposed Super League is a challenge to UEFA power and I support that, because UEFA have created the problem themselves with their greed. Notice there was no real furore over the new proposed CL changes which in effect was creating a situation that was akin to a super league without the money from it being shared to those who played in it. How can you have a CL when teams like Spurs who haven't been champions since 1961 are in it. Its a farce and it makes a mockery of the name CL.

Therefore a breakaway mid week league with the clubs taking the money rather than UEFA benefitting from it is in my mind no bad thing. I have an issue with the teams involved of course but that is because of tribal loyalties. Take away the tribal loyalties and look at it and the idea makes perfect sense to me.
This exactly. I’m really glad that the power moguls such as Ceferin & co - UEFA & FIFA - have had their ivory tower smashed

A note for those going along with this proposal. It will eventually lead to a franchise model.

Do people seriously expect that a European franchise model would have two clubs from Manchester and for that matter two from Milan long term?

We should all know how US franchises are sold on. There was the Brooklyn Dodgers baseball team that moved to Los Angeles. It happens all the time. The City franchise could easily be sold on to anywhere in Europe, or indeed anywhere in the World.

I would love to hear what Mr Michael Summerbee's take on this is?

Come on Mike, let's hear it, is this for you?
Indeed... I wonder what the legends/legacy ex players that work as ambassadors/hosts at the club are thinking about... sadly, but understandably, they’ll probably stay and earn coin.

I thought most of you lot getting the most outraged by this hated EUFA and the Champions League? Loads of supposed big fans last week were telling me on a thread that the FA Cup was more important and the whole thing is bent and all that. Well this decision is the biggest "Fuck off" to both UEFA and the CL that there has ever been. And if City are part of the decision making process in this new tournament and have a voice and/or a veto then surely you should be euphoric?
Jumping into bed with the very clubs who have driven the entire FFP agenda for 10 years does not seem like a sensible move to me.
