Apologies if it's been mentioned above (this thread is moving bloody fast), and I might be looking in the wrong place, but the announcement about the ESL on the official website isn't there anymore.

All clubs lost money over the pandemic, that year is an outlier for every business bar none.

City themselves are self-sufficient regardless.

Exactly, listening to Perez last night you would think only 12 clubs in the whole footballing world lost money. We all did, some had to fold. This take is the wrong hill to die on.

Real, Barca,Juve have spent badly and massively, thats their issue

You know - it's not often I feel sorry for multi-millionaire footballers and managers but for once I do. This must be shit for the players and managers at all these clubs as they've clearly not been the ones who have decided this. Sure, they're never going to go skint but money isn't everything and these people are still human beings who have feelings and have effectively been shat on from above.

First one I think about is Gundogan based on how he spoke about the CL before the Dortmund game - how much it meant to him as a player to win it etc. Incredibly passionate. And there were the pictures of him in tears after the Lyon defeat.

Also I'm looking forward to hear him speak more than any other player about this fiasco

Chelsea and City are also in huge 'debt', not to a bank but to the individuals that own us. You don't think Roman and Sheikh Mansour want some return on that one day? this is a chance to bank hundreds of millions in one go. Exactly the pay day that these men are used to and you think they are going to turn it down?

Same people on here crying about this are also on the transfer forum demanding Haaland, Nuno Mendes, Messi and Mbappe and think Sheikh Mansour should keep pulling his credit card out.
City aren’t in debt to Mansour, Chelsea are in debt to Roman (literally and on paper). The two are hugely different.

Cefferin saying there is still time to pull out. Lets hope the powers that be pull out and end this fucking shambles.

So now some the fans for the top 6 who are against the new CL formula (this is the reality) blame each other for this outcome loool, An arsenal Fan blaming City for this outcome because of " moneybags" in 2008 hh
to be fair the Arsenal fans have been delusional for years, paying crazy money watching no investment in their team as wenger chased his moral top 4 finish trophy

if you look at their club they would be mad not to sign up for this as they won't get any money out of their owner and the debts are still high

European Football is a fucking mess

The new Champions League format is a joke.
The ESL is a joke.
Everyone is after self-preservation and chasing the money.

The most important part of the clubs ie the fans have been totally left out of all this and without a voice.

Where do we go from here? Who the fuck knows
the new champions league reforms are shit aswell ,and way too slanted towards the history clubs .
I just hope if the ESL falls through , people dont take these uefa reforms because its the lesser of two evils .
Needs a stop put too it ,or as other posters have mentioned , the big clubs will keep chipping away at uefa and always threaten something like this break away .
Its a all a mess tbh ,hard to see any positives for the future with it .

Everton having their say

They would jump at the chance of joining IMHO their owner Moshiri with Usmanov i the back ground wouldn't hesitate he's not invested all the money and building a new stadium to not be part of the elite Fuck em they, and their fans who have taken the righteous stand calling us out before they got their investment

Short memories on here. Uefa tried to destroy city. Fuck me wake up people.
It was Kroenke, Herny, Perez who tried to destroy us. They just used UEFA for it. Are you seriously this naive?!?!?

That these people now like us and it was just UEFA. Now it wasn't.

Perez just slagged us off, basically saying that we dont bring in enough viewers

Of course but you are both at the point where you are sustainable business' and if you cant afford Mbappe you wont sign him

Real and Barca have been in big debt for years and they carry on spending as they think they are untouchable. Thats financial mismanagement
