SPORT OPTIONS & SPIKE - CLF - UPDATE TUESDAY 18 MAY @ 9PM

Anyone who thinks UEFA will change this to England needs to give their head a wobble.

It wasnt even 2 years ago UEFA made 2500 (yes thats all that could travel) Arsenal and Chelsea fans to fucking Baku in the arse end of Azerbaijan. Not a chance this is getting moved. Ther eis also the slight issue that Wembley is booked out for the Playoffs that weekend.
Doesnt have to be in Wembley - and shouldn't anyway because the cockneys should be made to travel.
Villa or Cardiff will do

Villa lol, you pissed still pal? Champions League final at Villa Park, that’s a classic.

edit.... @Mad Eyed Screamer - story on sky about Villa offering their stadium for the final, lmao. Large of slice of humble pie from me to you!

It should be moved to a safer location.

Istanbul didn't apply to host the final on the basis a few thousand would rock up. They'd be more than happy to miss out this season and have the opportunity to host it under more normal circumstances.

City winning it in Istanbul just seems right though.

There was no Covid 2 years ago. The government will not want 8000 nationals travelling to a Covid hotspot and they could also insist that players and club staff quarantine on the way back if fans are banned. That would put unprecedented pressure on UEFA to think again.

BBC North West Tonight telling us UEFA are allocating 4,000 tickets to each set of fans in Istanbul. Your move Boris???

Hello Blues,

Certainly not taking anything for granted, and all to play for on Tuesday night but SHOULD we progress to the Champions League Final in Istanbul and fans are allowed to travel we DO intend to operate charter flights and trips as usual.

We have decided to prepare for a positive outcome and are in talks with our trusted airline and hotel partners.

Currently we are working on preperations for both day return flights and overnight stays departing from Manchester and London.

Come on City.

All the best,

Spike

Its all a bit up in the air at the moment in Turkey. Red....amber...green. A country desperately willing to sell its soul for tourist's and visitors money . Because of a high spike in infections/deaths/ very low number of vaccinations, Turkey is currently in a proper lockdown, not the mealy mouthed stuff we've been through over here . Even going into the amber group might require a Covid test in Turkey before you can enter UK on return and monitored quarantine for 10 days back in the UK. Try telling that your boss and keeping a straight face.
It'll be a bit clearer on May 17........far bad or worse . I'm hearing first hand from several City fans who have tested positive for Covid following the League CUP final v Spurs, having been negative beforehand . If it can happen to them in London, smell the coffee in Istanbul.

A group of us of have hotels booked in Istanbul for what seems like 2 years ( I know its not !) , flights as well but these are strange and difficult times and I genuinely wish you well, in organising a trip like this.

Funny that.

I know of at least 50 who went and not one positive covid test between us after the cup final

Luck of the draw maybe

It is absolutely nailed on you will need a PCR test to board your flight back to the UK.
you will also have to fill in a passenger locator form and isolate for 10 days unless Turkey joins the red list.

It should be moved to the millennium stadium. I’d even take Barca or Paris as better alternatives.

Isolate for 10 days where? At home?

Also how will it change if it joins the red list?
