The Boxing thread

Saunders looked just about on top until the fractured orbit, which he would have been stupid to fight on from.

Alrarez' fights have caught up with him, and would be a good decision if he retired at the top now as the his decline is clearly on the cards.

Normally I'd go for the underdog m(especially a British fighter) against Canelo but it says a lot about Saunders when more people wanted him to get a beating

The Radio 5 Live pundits, Steve Bunce and Joe Gallagher, called it right. At the start of the fight, they said Canelo would destroy BJS if Saunders over committed and that happened just before Alvarez’s bo e cruncher.

A side note is that the Canelo victory also adds to Mayweather’s legacy, although Alvarezbwasba lot younger when he was beaten up by Floyd.

Take your pick from a video instructing men how to hit women, going above and beyond to defend a murderous drug dealer who is his, along with several other boxers, business manager to a fairly depraved tweet taking the piss out of Barry hearn about his dead daughter.

Videos of him offering drug addicts money/drugs to hit someone, making prank calls to airlines to get three other boxers thrown off because he lies about them having COVID.

The guy is a prick.
Yeh but all that aside......... ;-)

Haven't seen last night's fight but unless he has aged incredibly overnight you really think he's in decline?

What makes you think he’s on the decline?

BJS has always been difficult to hit & extremely awkward to fight against. It didn’t look to me like Father Time is catching up on Canelo, unless I missed something which someone with a better eye than mine for boxing has picked up on?

Yeh not seen last night's action and as people quite rightly point out Saunders is a very good and awkward operator (like him or not).

That saying, Canelo looks as good as there is at present. Looks like he has been carved out of stone, outworks his opponents as he is the main aggressor whilst remaining elusive right on their chest.

Very special fighter indeed..........

His finishing punch was incredible. Think he’d finally figured out BJS head movement.

Watch it mate. Was an intriguing fight & I thought it was pretty close, with BJS definitely winning his fair share of rounds
