The Boxing thread

I saw fitter looking boxers at a white collar event last Saturday than how Bellew looked today!

A fight of this magnitude and he looks like that?

He doesn't seem to be naturally,athletic/ripped. The extra weight he's had to put on isn't aesthetically pleasing, but I am sure he's put in the hard work.

However, that said, I think he'll be lights out in the 6th or 7th. I doubt hell be able to cope with the speed and power of Haye. I don't particularly like either, and Haye has made a right dick of himself in recent weeks, but I'd rather he won.

Bellew is posing for the cameras knowing he looks a little uneasy on the eyes - after all he keeps on mentioning how great Haye's physique is. I reckon it does bother Bellew but there is no hiding place up there shirtless and he has to make light of the situation.

Oh and to add, Shane McGuigan to me just comes off a little immature at times.

He's always having to add little digs yet call out Bellew's trainer for the same thing.

It's probably much bigger than that, but I think as a trainer he's be better of just taking a bit of a step back and offer less of the personal stuff. It seems both him and Haye are unable to keep their counsel.

Did you watch yesterday's press conference??? Dave coldwell spoke longer than Hearn and both the fighters, why??? Also calling Hayes manager a 'cricket' match fixer for good measure, I'd say he should stick to tactics and conditioning.. if anything Shane did the correct thing and set him straight, leave the trash talking to the two knobheads with gloves!

Zin, I shall bow to your superior knowledge.

I will admit I haven't witnessed all of the build-up, but from what I have seen the the shenanigans are pitiful from all ends.

Both coaches/trainers, I believe should hold themselves in higher regard.

The main protagonists are bad enough - particularly Haye, but the trainers should know better.

McGuigan, I feel should not rise to the bait. He has the better fighter and ought to keep his counsel - in my opinion .

I'm not keen on either of them to be honest but i can't see the gobby Scouser getting past 6 rounds, so that's why my money is going on Haye in the 6th @ 10/1
