Why, if you dislike Scotland so much, are you so against them leaving the union?
I love the place, and the people. I have spent dozens of holidays there. I dont like sturgeon any more than i like the politicians down here. She gets a very easy ride and far too much news time. You have confused me calling her and her policies out on here and having a few topical debates with the usual suspects with me disliking the place and the people. That couldnt be father than the truth.

Fair enough. Thanks for answering.

I‘ve seen less of Sturgeon on my tv news than Fox and Farage over the past 5 years.

have done at times, ive watched a fair few over the years. He doesnt let go easily does he?

It is a piss easy gig. Nothing intelligent about it, doesn't give any insight. Just interrupt, talk over, contradict, repeat.
And i mean that for all his 'interviews'. Lowest common denominator carcrash entertainment to get viewers that want to watch people under 'pressure' over nothing significant.

Nothing wrong with Andrew Neil interrogating politicians; the problem comes when politicians are too frit to subject themselves to that level of interrogation.

Everything wrong with Andrew Neil, and it isn't interrogation. See above.

Fox as in laurence Fox,? i havent seen much of him at all if im honest Farage is finished and i haven't seen much of him the past year or two compared to Nicola Stugeon.

i dissagree, the interview i saw that he did with her he just tried to get her to answer the question, she couldn't and started bumbling terribly.

He’s an abrasive interviewer by all means, but I’d much rather see him question all politicians. It might be uncomfortable watching, especially if you have something at stake, but the electorate deserves to see those seeking the highest offices given a rough ride.

There is literally no point to it though, the ultimate goal is to make people 'unconfortable' and entertain people that want to see people made uncomfortable. Thats all it is. You could remove hom from the equation and just dangle them over hot coal, and watch that. Does nothing at all of any intellect or merit. Zero insight into anything.

Let the rest of the UK vote on it then. Can’t understand why the English don’t have a say as it affects us too. That would get them over the line.
If that’s what it takes to sort it, so be it. There is only about 5-6 million people holding us to ransom. Let’s see how it goes, it will be interesting. Borders never work.

I haven’t seen him in his current incarnation, but while he was at the BBC (Daily Politics/Election) he was relatively evenhanded and always thoroughly prepared, especially on economics, much more so than the interviewees. That the current prime minister was too frightened to even face him remains, in my eyes, an embarrassment.

Because he’s no longer on the BBC, however, Sturgeon will not be obliged to face him again , so she will get a much easier ride, just like the rest.

I have no intention in seeing him in his current incarnation. I was talking about his bbc interviews. All of them, what i've seen of them. They might as well put a drunk guy in fromt of them to just mock repeat everything they say, it would have the same effect.

None of us in the EU got a vote on whether you lot were allowed to leave or not.

I accept it has nothing to do with me and I should perhaps butt out, but I really don’t understand this logic.

It’s like being in a club and then deciding you don’t want to be in it anymore but the rest of the members decide for you that you’re not allowed leave.

Doesn’t sound like a very optional union.

That may say more about the quality of British politicians than Neil, to be fair.

Just to out a bit of perspective on the election result up here

you take out more than you put into the UK economy, check it out. Dont believe that tripe that magic pole came up with the other week. Where he said you contributed twice what you took out before oil, which by the way now has a huge economic liability due to decomissioning costs that the UK taxpayer has been told to pick up.
OK firstly, that is wildly not true. Maybe it looks that way in a formula designed specifically to look way. But when Scottiah resource and produce is hitting the coffers of companies registered in London, then I absolutely must reject your claim.

As for the oil decommissioning, so you should. Norway has a 3 trillion oil fund, yet exported less since 1970 than Scotland has. Where then, is Scotlands 3 trillion in oil revenue? Let me tell you. When Thatcher killed the mining industry along with many others, it was that money that funded the entire London financial services industry.

So I'm sorry, don't try and tell me as a Scotsman, we are taking handouts. We never have, we never will and to say as much is as Ill-informed as it is ridiculous. I would much rather see Scotland awash with small businesses and progressive industry than large corporations avoiding their taxes and giving Tories backhanders while keeping working classes families scrapping from month to month.

Dont be silly, you are comparing a country of 5m people in Norway with a country of 67m in the UK. Just not comparable im affraid.

She does do quite well at first, better than most would i think when faced with such difficult questions. She doesnt deny any of the points made by Neil but she doesnt answer the questions either at the end.
