True, but except for possibly the odd exception, the squad will be built to the C/L rules so in that sense we are limited to 21. No homegrown player will sign being told they are ineligible for C/L, except maybe a keeper like Carson or previously Wright.
Why will it be built for CL rules? We play far more games in the PL than the CL.

Why would a HG player be ineligible for CL when we could just remove Mendy from CL squad?

For one we always have. Secondly No player first team squad will just accept not being included in the champions league squad. There is no way we will sign more than 21 eligible players, other than as I have said a 3rd keeper. Just removing Mendy, even if he is stiil with us which he probably won't be, isn't a real option. Anyway you look at it the 17 non homegrown plus 8 homegrown for the P/L is irrelevant to us. We will go with 17 free places plus 4 Homegrown (possibly 5 at the most if it's a keeper) Plus any club trained/U21.

It must be a mentality problem. We have seen how good he can be but struggles to consistently produce week in week out. The only other issue might be rotation. He might be the type of player who needs a constant run in the team and does not handle being left out and put in
True but if it's mentality, will it improve?

Not a chance in my opinion will be take Walkers place, Walker is in my opinion the most undervalued player at the club and one of the most underrated players in the league.

No that's no good and never gonna happen. Pep would sooner sell Torres back to Spain to the top 3 La Liga teams than him sending a young Spanish international to a bunch of teams that go in and out of the PL. The man might not be a Spanish nationalist but he has to answer to the federation on his handling of a promising member of the national team.
He doesn’t have to “answer to” anyone except his employers. Who are Manchester City FC and not the Spanish FA. What on earth are you talking about?

This must mean that if Grealish is to come, Fernandinho must make room (Tolmie has said that someone needs to leave if Grealish is happening).

Agree he looked better in the system at Palace but his game was built on speed and power - when we signed him. He has been injured several times since he joined us and whilst he still a big strapping lad - his pace has gone and his positional sense and reading of the game just aren't good enough to get him out of difficult situations. I felt for the lad on Saturday - he had a torrid time.

He is garbage, cant tackle, takes ages to get it from under his feet, he crosses the ball as if the forwards are on 2 pitches away from him & half of his passes don't get there

Absolutely agree he's been hammered by injuries & yes when we do play 4-3-3 he is better but that better is nowhere near good enough in this City team.

the guy will walk away form City with every medal possible to add to his Euros & world Cup amazing for someone who has played very little

people on here & fans loved him more for the twitter shite, he is paid a handsome fee to produce the goods something I have hardly seen, you could count on 1 hand the outstanding games he's had IMO

Thanks Mendy enjoy the end of the season but sorry mate your time is up!!!

Somebody must, yes. Fernandinho does't seem to fit from my POV but Pep may have a different plan.
No they mustn’t. They probably will but they don’t have to. Pretty certain Jovetic fell foul of this in the past, so no reason why Mendy won’t next season. That’s a plain & simple fact. Not my opinion, just a fact.

& I agree that this is unlikely.

You can say what you want (Blue)parrot fashion, but repeating it doesn’t make it a fact.
See what I did there? ;)

Edit.
What if we want rid of Mendy but he refuses to go. Don’t you think the club could say, fine, stay, but you won’t be in the CL squad?

Oh and the English FA would have love it if Pep sent Foden to teams that are hangers on in the PL, I'm sure. Torres to relegation fodder is not gonna happen ditto with Sterling to Arsenal. So in your wisdom the club would rather listen to supporters acting like City is a Make a Wish Foundation so their transfer in and out wishlist is realized? We will surely not be in this position if the flappers got their Gundogan and Mahrez dream transfer out last season. Give me a break!

Similarly you are also just repeating the same thing. Guess we'll see who was right in the summer.

I don’t think Torres or Sterling are going anywhere. The point is if Pep decided a player needed to move on, whether permanently or on loan, it would be a decision for him, Manchester City FC and the player. National federations don’t come into it. It is literally none of their business

I’ve read this a few times and can’t make any sense of it. Could anyone translate?

I'm pretty sure I make more sense than someone who thought Gundogan and Mahrez were stealing a living to believing they are living personifications of the Buddha in a single season.

Unless he changes position to RM? Walker has been 1 of our best buys no arguments with that. Yes he has limitations like every player but he offers us valuable recovery pace and for me that negates his flaws. Cancelo is a very talented player and was instrumental when Kev was out injured. Tricky 1 but just like Jesus will the changes be made or will we just carry on?

For what’s it’s worth I would like to see Jesus on the left, Cancelo on the right with Foden playing more central. More out of curiosity than anything else.

He seems to believe that national fa have a say in transfer dealing if we send our players to lower levels remember the Germany fa stepping in when we tried to send nmencha to Belgium and the English fa stop thb going to the championship. And I remember Henderson having a cracking season at the rags last season thank god the fa stopping him going out on loan to a "lower level" club.

He was yesterday asking Sterling, Cancelo, Mendy and Torres to make up the defensive shortcoming of that midfield, they weren't up to it.

That says to me our quality isn't quite as deep as those big names suggest.

Pep is challenging players to prove him wrong, show their ability to adapt.
Spot on .
Raz was having a bit of adjusting problem in the middle and was having communication issues with rest of the mf .
It was a hot mess but I‘m afraid not many will make the final cut .

Ah ok, bit random. JLingz would probably disprove this theory.

I guess the pertinent question then is would the Norwegian FA sanction Haarland’s move to City?

I prefer walker at rb as I believe he is more solid defensively and he pairs up great with mahrez by hugging the touchline pulling defenders allows mahrez to cut inside.
