I thought he’d looked fairly solid in his recent outings but Chelsea ruthlessly targeted him yesterday and at times it was hard to watch
Looks, IMO, deceive.

If not pressed and given ample time he can adequately pass.

If the opposition rarely/never challenge down the left - then Mendy won't need to defend.

In this context, what's left - Mendy open and with time on the ball - Mendy can whip a cross into the box with pace. Which he did at Monaco.

It seems to me that such crosses are rather blind - not aimed at anyone in particular - but due to pace of the cross are often telling.

That to me is what Mendy is - pretty good if not pressed and if he has no/little defensive responsibility - his pacy crosses into the box occasionally find an offensive player and we sometimes score as a result.

The problem with him he can’t run he can’t defend and he can’t cross apart from that he is top

It was scary how easy Reece James did him yesterday. I think he overestimated Mendy in the first half, but then realised it didn’t require anything complicated to beat him. Just knock it 10 yards down the line and chase after it...

I think it will cost us more in wage subsidies to sell him this year than it would to keep him. No one will buy him. His wages are probably £10m over the next 2 years (gulp) and I doubt we could get shut of him for less then that. We won’t be receiving any transfer fee.
Unfortunately, the case for keeping him is just as riddled with bullets.

When you fill a form in there's a section on job title, do you think mendy keeps a straight face when he puts down professional footballer ? After watching the game with a few drinks inside me then watching MOTD highlights the bloke is a fucking disaster and if anyone from city comes on bluemoon message for you rip the fuckers contract up and get rid .
PS COME ON CITY

Looked miles off the pace against Chelsea. Even after he'd been beaten a couple of times he didn't change his positioning. Looked lost chasing shadows

Every time I see him on the pitch he reminds me of a certain animal Peter from "Family Guy" buys in one of the episodes.

Losing your speed and acceleration has everything to do with your positioning and ability to make tackles.
Losing your pace is far less concerning than being brain dead. He's another Mangala, tackles with the wrong foot and cannot get himself in good defensive positions. He's not lost that much pace compared to others in his position
