Harry Kane

Anyone worried about Kane’s age
Robert Lewandowski is 33 in august and arguably still top of his game.
Neither player relies on pace and are similar in that respect.
Kane would give us 5 top years imo. Wouldn’t need to play if not fully recovered from injury like he does at Spurs .
But as people have mentioned. He is hungry to win things which is the main thing for me.

So first of all, it should be noted that Lewandowski takes immaculate care of his body and health and probably spends millions of his own personal money on nutritionists, dieticians, etc. Lewandowski also has a fantastic injury record and gets the odd nag in the groin or foot, but for the most plays almost every game. While Kane is a fantastic player and would be great I highly doubt we would get 5 years of top football from him. There are far more games in this league, there isn't a winter break like in Germany, and the league is much much much more demanding.

I know where you are coming from but the same could of been said about van Persie and Utd. They only got one very good season out of him and he was hampered by injuries

Delap doesn't benefit from Kane coming over Haaland.

If Kane stays 5 years, Delap will be 23. He's not waiting that long, no one is.

If Delap is going to be a world class striker, he'll be leading the line somewhere at 21...like Haaland is, like Kane was, like Aguero did.
Not sure Aguero led the line at that age, mate.

Didn't he play off Forlan (who played the more traditional no.9 role)?

How do you know Kane doesn't do the same!?

Kane vs Haaland.

I feel kind of weird in that I want Haaland, but I know Kane right now is absolutely amazing, pass, goals, everything, and is better for us right now.

... but I still want Haaland, hate feeling like this because clearly Kane would be an amazing signing.

I think because we have won so regularly, I quite like or romanticize with the idea of buying the younger talent and building them up to be the best in the world.
I really dont think we can go wrong with either. Haaland has youth and the city connection so, for myself, I'm drawn to prefer him but if we get Kane instead we have still got an absolute top tier player who I have no doubt will be a success.
To be fair, i think you're right about immediate fit and Kane probably fits in faster then Haaland.

At £80m-£100m I can see it, but I believe it’ll be close to the £120m being talked (speculated) about, then I’d pass, especially if there’s addons on top of either £100m or £120m.

It really doesn't work like this... if we have agreed with Kane's people that we are in for him and he's doing his bit with Spurs / Levy - we will need to go balls deep for the player - as we did in similar circumstances with Raz and with Lescott - our whole reputation is on the line here. You can't encourage a player to leave a club and then leave them high and dry.

For the sake of balance. I LOVED Milner. Then he left on a free for L1 and now he’s the biggest **** in world football outside Neymar IMO.

You need to meet more players mate, there are a huge number of utter tw*ts a lot worse than Milner, and a small number of genuine guys in the game. City have a number of good guys in the squad.

Agreed and I think Kane wants us more as it stands from his comments about KDB. Haaland we get next season!!

Wow so who is that then? Surely you’re not ranking Kane above Haaland and Mbappe?
I definitely rate kane above haaland at this point, and mbappe doesn't really play striker does he? Even so, I rate kane higher. Only lewandowski imo is better

That doesn’t mean we should have our pants pulled down either.
Also doesn’t do our reputation much good if we just pay.

£120M?

City are not paying that for ANY player! And they certainly are not giving that war chest to a team that is always in and around the Top 4!

I can see them structuring some kind of deal where a player (or two) goes the other way and we inflate their value to make it seem like Kane was £75-80M, but I just think it is insane money for a “one contract, no possible sell-on” player. For a 20 year old Haaland, who might want to play for Barca or Madrid when he’s 27? I could see it, but FFP means costing a contract out over the entire length of the deal. Are City going to give Kane a 5 or 6 year deal to spread out £120M deal into £20M per year, even before £12M+ every year in wages & bonuses? £30-35M per year for the next 5-6 years for ONE PLAYER???

Just don’t see it! We only have a few major sponsors and that is akin to giving ALL the money from one of them to ONE new player!

Kane is a very good player who knows where the goal is. He appears to be peaking, even though he gets a few injuries. He probably even has a few top seasons left in him. I just don’t want to spend stupid money on him with a much younger, bigger, stronger, City fan out there doing the business AND he has the potential to be here for 10+ years, like Sergio, and be a dominant force in our squad….with sell on potential if he doesn’t want City in 5 or 6 yrs!

It doesn't always come over in real life either. But I've also learned to accept who I am. Some people think I'm a ****, my mum and my wife love me. Yin and yang. Haha.
Back in the day I didn't know how to take you on here but after watching you on @twosips videos you come across a lot better.
Anyway...excited for Harry Kane if it comes off.

True but other players will note how we conduct ourselves.....
We’ve walked away from players in the past we didn’t think represented fair value, so not sure why this would be any different.
We currently get praised for not overspending on one player, don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone criticise us for walking away.
If Kane has a problem with that then that’s on him.
