Same day as you book tickets with a 1 day turnaround to respond with all details - start and end of passport date, full name, DoB etc on passport of all travelling.

It only goes to the lead booker.

Have to admit that I have always gone platinum and joined the cup schemes just for times like these.

I've had a season ticket for 48 straight seasons (the last 30 living c. 170 from MCR) and visited half the grounds in the country following City so my loyalty points don't even begin to reflect my loyalty.

You are right, and this is more about away games in general rather than this particular match.

Why is it that this season we've had 18,000 tickets spread across 3 matches, and there are plenty of people who have tickets for all 3 matches? We were told before the Newcastle ballot at Christmas, that if you got a ticket for that match, you would not qualify again until all season ticket holders had been given a chance to go. That principle was never even mentioned this time around.

It won't change unless people vote with their feet.

If everyone quit the Platinum and cup schemes, they'll start asking fans why, the answer will be, "because for 20+ years you've given tickets to the same people and we've no chance of ever getting tickets for away matches" - that's what I'm doing going forward. I'll renew my season ticket as gold and not go to anymore cup matches.

I take it then you went to the eight away games in our last season that made open sale? It’s a myth you can’t get to away games, it’s only ‘certain’ away games. Oh and any season card holder (postcode lottery aside) could have gone to Wembley

ordered 2 tickets with travel pack. No email so rang city who said they needed to cancel and re order as they hadn’t transferred travel on but it was there fault. They cancelled it and then phone went dead (12pm so after city had sold out) got back through and they said they’ve gone to someone else and we’ve lost our tickets. Now no tickets to give us and not much help from supporter services.

anyone any ideas of who to email?!

Isn't that what everyone who go's to a lot of games does though.

It's not the going to games, it's being blackmailed into paying an extra £50 so that your presence at the match is considered doubly important.

I have no problem with those who go to the most games home and away picking up the spoils at times like this. It is only fair and right. What I do have a problem with is two people going to the same game but one is given a greater status because he chucked an extra £50 in the club coffers.

What do you think is wrong with the points system?

Not got time to give a full answer to that one now. Things to do before I head North this evening for tomorrow's game.

I have done several posts on this thread and the return on fans one recently.

As just mentioned and it applies not just to me, many of us put in lots of hard yards before the scheme started but for all sorts of reasons have not been able to accumulate points over the more recent times to the same degree as others. And then it becomes hard to get tickets for away games and play catch up.

In the past two or three seasons I have sat with the home supporters at WHU, WBA, Watford, Swansea, Oxford, Southampton & Brighton and used away spares a couple of times at Spurs. Most of those being games where City fans in the away end paid less and got points.

Younger supporters are also disadvantaged.

It's difficult though to come up with an ideal system and there are people who go to virtually every game who can reasonably claim they should be able to buy tickets for each game. However, I believe wider availability of away tickets would be appropriate.

The distribution of the vast majority of cup final tickets should have some link to attendance. Also, I firmly believe that a higher proportion of tickets in finals should go to the clubs involved than is normally the case.

all those reduced allocations under Pearce, sven, hughes, and even Mancini seem to have been forgotten, why were they reduced, because the demand wasn't there, the club knew they would end up with a bill because all those desperate for loyalty points couldnt be arsed to go, but it doesnt end there, there were numerous cup games at home where the stadium was half empty, the year we won the cup, we had stewards in cb level 3 offering us to move seats in the north stand against Villa, so the ground wouldnt look so empty for tv. I have sympathy for the younger fans, but the opportunity has been there for anyone over 18 since the early 2000's
