I remember reading the interview of Phil`s coach from the old time, when he was a kid.. and he said that once Phil would start to shine and establish himself as a first team player - he would be as good as Messi..

When I was reading that, I couldn't believe and imagine - how this little guy, with a very good set of skills but soft physicality like loosing a ball each time someone tackled him and average pace compared to Sterling or Sane - could do that and be as good as Messi..

But fortunately I was soooo wrong :D Those Ocrober-November-December games when he started to rise was amazing experience for me as a fan and I think culmination was that wonderful goal against Liverpool - where he played as a RW for the first time and in like 10-15 minutes destroyed them at Anfield..

Since then we see some maneuvers from him during the games - which only Messi is and was able to do in the last 10 years.

Imagine having him for the next 10-15 years as a football player - tighten the seatbelts..

P.S I expect that Pep will make same maneuver during the final - if it will be needed.. That's the weapon someone isn't prepared for, like Klopp wasn't :D <3

He was on Saturday Social on sky sports doing a Q and A and got asked about him and haaland coming off the pitch and what was they saying to each other.

He said I'm not allowed to say and went on to something else.

There it is, haaland on his way.

What a season he's had. 16 goals 10 assists and can add to that next week. Really liked the look of him in midfield as well.

I think the champions league final will elevate him onto the world stage, the best player in the world is up for grabs and imo over the next 10 years phil will be right up there

Good glimpse into the future today. He is already sensational but he can be so much better central. He's just going to have to wait it out for now until kdb/gundogan aren't playing every singlengame and we get a left sided winger. He has nailed the left wing for now but I expect him to feature in the middle next season more often than this.

Or if Mason greenwood becomes available swap him straight away because apparently he's easily the better potential.

You shut your filthy mouth!

In all seriousness, the freedom afford to our central positions suits Phil perfectly, because his toolset is so vast, you increase his unpredictably.

He is allowed to go wide and do his wide-bits that we've been seeing all year, we get to see him collect centrally, turn and drive forward (a trade mark move from him at this point) and look to make that killer pass. He can also finish and be in better positions to do so (centrally).

Considering Gundogan and KdB's age, we will see great rotation in the 2 spots between all 4 (Phil, Gundogan, KdB, Bernie).
