What makes you compare him to Lampard?

other than decent shooting, scoring goals & ghosting into the box, I personally don’t see the comparison with Lampard.

I think their playing style is completely different

Lampard didnt dribble like Foden, didn’t deliver balls into the box like Foden, didn’t play one touch football like Foden. Lampard could only play CM or #10, Phil looks like a player who can play anywhere other defence. Lampard was far stronger in the tackle than Foden.

Maybe I’m just not one for comparisons?

yeah, he's not really like Lampard at all.

Think that's harsh. Lampard was an excellent technical player.

Agreed he was an excellent technical player & in his position, one of the best of his era, but definitely not harsh. I’m not saying Frank wasn’t great at what he did, I’m just saying he did it in a completely different way to the way Phil plays.

Do you think that Lampard‘s dribbling style is like Foden?
Lampard delivered great balls into the box, but didn’t deliver balls into the box like Foden, who’s delivery I would liken a little to Kev’s, as in early & with plenty of whip.

Maybe the one touch football would’ve been similar had Lampard played for Pep, who knows?

What makes you think they’re similar types of player? I just don’t see it myself

With the exception of Gareth (and maybe Fabregas), the others on that first list were all burnt out or injury-prone by their late 20s.

That was exactly the argument that those, who didn't want Phil rushed into the first team were (and still are) using.

Every time Foden hasn't been in the League line-up, the so-called experts have been bemoaning the fact, while failing to mention that he has been playing every midweek in the CL.

In such a hectic season as this one, Pep has to look after the entire squad; that's why he is rotating so much.
