Yeah lets just overlook glaring technical issues because he can score tap ins (despite fucking up a large number of chances as well.) He'd have a lot more goals if his first touch was better and he could get the ball under control and then shoot properly.

Works both ways. Apart from the fact that goals change games and pretty flicks don't.

I'm not greedy I don't want fancy flicks. I'll settle for him being able to take a touch of the ball without it bouncing 5 feet away from him and him fucking up the attack.

You mean like when he was averaging a goal every other game and he was finishing our attacks?

Pretty sure we all want him to hit that form again.

Apart from those who obviously saw no merit in all those tap ins.
 
I’ve been as disappointed as the next person with his form this season but saying he has no technical ability and can’t pass or control the ball is the kind of comment that I’d expect from an idiot.
This is a player who’s made it to the top of the game, plays for the best team in the world and is currently negotiating a contract worth millions.
You’d think it was fucking Bebe we were discussing.

Of course you are correct,but much of the criticism is born from frustration and disappointment,and it then becomes exaggerated and OTT.
However there is no escaping the fact his technical ability,passing ability,and control of the ball,is a long way behind the brilliance of our other attackers,and that has become a big problem when we are trying to play the possession based style of football Pep demands.

This isnt an issue that has haunted him for a few months,as some would like to claim,its been a problem for a good while....despite the goals,his overall game and contribution has deteriorated over the past couple of seasons to such an extent that people are now concerned he might not rediscover it.

Not comparing the 2 obviously but Shaun Goater Would have scored plenty in this team

He is a shadow of the PLAYER he was, and he doesn’t have technical ability to fall back on. Instead, he needs everything to “click.” If he gets a new deal, I hope it clicks next year.

I only wish him well, and I only care about the quality of the team on the field. He’s had a very bad season for someone who won PFA a few years ago. He needs to sort himself out ON FIELD, because his off field life appears exemplary.

It relates to a significant change in when he used to pull the trigger to the chances he gets now.

In previous seasons, he would have had numerous more goals than he has this season. The point is to illustrate what is missing from his game now….perhaps due to a lack of confidence…or “yips,” as has been stated.

Fair enough, but I don't want to deny you the opportunity to see this one thing you pointed out.

Give or take, he is basically around his xG every season.

In fact, you can see this season the +1.76, showing what we all know, he is having an off season in front of goal.

For context, this is KdB this season:

Showing also what we knew at the beginning of the season, KdB was missing alot of chances, but tended to get a pass.
