Equally,i cant believe posters think Sterling is as good as it gets when the evidence on a weekly basis says different.

And despite attempting to address and discuss the glaring weaknesses in his game,some just point blank refuse and choose to bury their heads while claiming moral superiority.

Is this actually true though?

I haven't seen anyone say he isn't a bad finisher or he doesn't get the ball stuck under his feet at times etc

The issue is a portion of posters look at those and say clearly Sterling is shit and 'insert midtable winger' can do those things better so should replace him.

But that ignores all the good aspects of his game, he has been integral in what most people would call the greatest ever premier League team. He has been part of the attack which has scored the most goals for how many years now?

You only have to look in our own squad to see it, Mahrez has some of the best technique in the entire squad yet he is a bit part player and most people wouldn't have him in their best XI. That's because the rest of his game is so lacking 90% of the time.

No argument,he was superb a couple of seasons ago.

If that's the bar then it will apply to literally dozens of footballers across the league, and loads within our squad. Form is temporary, class is permanent.

Only Gundo has scored more goals than him for us this season.

Only De Bruyne has more assists.

Only De Bruyne has more official Man of the Match performances.

But he runs down a blind alley and misses some open goals. I can live with that.

His final 3rd defensive and positional qualities, as well as his understanding of Pep's tempo beliefs are a key reason why he continues to get more games than people would like even despite not being too outwardly impressive on the eye at times.

If you don't think those numbers are anything other than astonishing there's something wrong. Genuinely.

He's not perfect, no player is. But to replace those numbers, with fucking Raphina or Traore or Harrison as I've seen suggested. Forgive me, but that is complete and utter bollocks.

Honestly why bother at this point?
Sterling could score a hat trick in the Champions League final, win the World Cup with England, cure COVID-19, and cook every City fan a delicious hot pot, and FantasyIreland would still rather we replaced him with Ademola Lookman.

I didn't mean to be too harsh on him as I think he has been decent this season and last but on ability alone he could carry this attack like he did for Leicester.

He reminds me of Nasri a little where with their ability you just think why are you not pushing to be a top 10 player in the world.

He hasnt displayed great form for nearly 18 months.......When was the last time he was MOTM? or even a candidate?

Do you genuinely get excited when he's on the ball anymore? do think there is more chance of him creating than there is him fluffing his lines?
