Just finished listening to a podcast with forum favourite Sam lee. To loosely summarise he said the following.
The feeling he was getting from the spurs connected journalists was that the move would be very tough to do and we would need Kane to push through the move which he believes after speaking to some sources kane is unlikely to do as he isn’t that type of person. He likened it to the Sanchez situation and basically he knows city are 100% interested but wouldn’t be surprised if it all blew over quickly and Kane announced he was staying.
Just thought I’d post as I know some believe Sam is well connected.
if we don’t have a replacement for Sergio lined up it would be absolutely crazy. Hoping city are more confident than Sam about getting a deal done!
I hope this is wrong - the Neville interview is full of him talking about winning things. He won't get that at Spurs, simple as that. If he's serious about progressing and hitting new heights (mentioned in the interview again) then he needs to make it happen and not just leave it to the clubs to thrash out.
One thing that interested me in the Neville interview was when it was mentioned about leaving and he said 'ultimately it's my decision' when Neville hinted at Levy being a nightmare to deal with. Maybe hints at there being a 'gentlemen's agreement' to leave this Summer?
I've watched parts of the Maguire/Neville interview today and he said that in 2018 the owner of Leicester asked him to give him one more year then he can go. That happened and probably happens more than we realise too. You'd think, if that's the same with Levy/Kane, then he'd be let go if he still wants to - which he obviously does. Owners who don't stick to that word probably lose the trust of current and potential players. And it all boils down to the classic why would you want a player who doesn't want to be there when you can get a massive fee and buy a few who do?
The interview he's done is as close to a transfer request as you can get without handing one in.
