Government advises
against travel in and out of Bolton..that doesn't good

Doesn't surprise. Infection control in NHS hospitals is fecking shocking and the UK should be ashamed of it. The worst in the affluent west.
Anti viral/bacterial brass and copper door, stair and lift fittings should be everywhere, ventilation needs to be radically changed. Cleaners and catering staff need to to be checked for infection. Sanitiser everywhere. The list goes on and on.

So Wujan Labour workers were ill with symptoms of Covid BEFORE the disease took off...

You mean China lied? I'm shocked I tell you, shocked.

To be expected and we need to learn now to start looking past cases although you certainly won't hear that in the media.

We have to remember that the rise in cases isn't coming from traditionally symptomatic PCR tests at testing sites, they are coming from the huge increase in local surge testing which will find many asymptomatic individuals.

This is giving the illusion that places like Bolton are under siege when actually it's probably only slightly different to anywhere else. My town is 5-6 miles from Bolton and cases are up very slightly here too but no-one is surge testing here, I bet if they did then it'd be no different.

Nothing to see here.

Exactly what was happening in Scotland and now eventually hospitalisations are evidently on the rise.

The only question remaining is how high will the case numbers go because inevitably the hospital figures will soon reflect the increase. I'm not keen on the gamble.

Says above though that hospitalisations in Bolton have doubled - admittedly ‘only’ 43 but if that sees an exponential rise then we’re potentially buggered.

Or not, given vaccines?

Ugh.

Year 12 closed in our kids school on public health advice following positive tests. Mask wearing reinstated for all other years.

My youngest in Y11, so close shave.

Usual contradictory advice from govt to Bolton "Fine to go the the pub but FFS don't go to Bury"...

Good thread here on the various data and what it all means. Bottom line: too soon to tell.

Hang in there blues, the end is in sight, and it's champs league final Saturday!

Reported in Bolton News.

Apparently the guidance was written but not communicated(!)

Sadly I find that all too believable, surreal as it is.

Absolutely bizarre and needless mixed messaging.

when will the government press the panic button again ? lockdown and a 3rd wave

the rise in cases will be covered with the vaccine roll out. the indian covid variant is being blamed on asian communities in the north west and people not listening to the advise of the government ? greater manchester is a closed shop and locals towns every day numbers are up ?

i hope am wrong but the 3rd wave will happen before October and local tiers system will be in place very soon in the north west ? i just hope wrong and we can move on but the signs are look bleak but we live and hope
