There does seem to be a group of people that are almost enjoying this and almost wanting things to get worse, not sure why, but it is worrying. Perhaps it's a fame thing or just a desire to be important?

If we decide to vaccinate children with mRNA vaccines then that has the potential of ending the epidemic.

I nce thought that would be stupid and unnecessary given the risks of the illness being weighted towards the old. But in terms of increasing immunity in the population as a whole it might be necessary.

We just want to get this done.

SO N IRELAND AND WALES TODAY COMBINED 94 cases and 0 deaths.

68 in hospital and 2 on ventilators

You’re obviously conflating ‘children‘ with small people going to school. I’m talking about 3’s and under and I’m talking about viruses which are usually found in autumn and winter.

thanks for that. It’s good to see actual numbers with actual figures of what is happening right now so reassuring to see the vaccines working

My doctor mate works at The Royal says they are already making big plans for the flu season, putting infrastructure in place, and are worried by a lot of the modelling they have had done.

The flu hasn't really been out in the open for the past 14 months and hospitals are expecting a worrying wave from it.

same for my bro in law who is a medic down here.

Flu virus has a lot lower R number than corona. So if you suppress corona, you suppress flu even more - it's essentially disappeared almost worldwide. But once we lift restrictions, it'll be back as usual I guess.

15 all settings deaths (13 England 2 Scotland) - 6 out of hospital added to the 7 known earlier,

2493 cases - up from 2439 yesterday

942, 840 tests - about 219 K fewer than yesterday

Last week 959 K tests for 2412 cases (just 81 fewer cases than today)
