He is an embarrassment, what has our great country done to deserve him as PM.

I got why Thatcher did what she did, i didn't agree with her, but she believed she was doing her best for the country and i grudgingly respected her, this clown Johnson has none of her gravitas, none of her belief, he doesn't care about the country, he cares about one thing, he cares about himself. The biggest lying narcissistic charlatan to ever be PM of this country.

We deserve better than him, I do not care if it is another Tory, a liberal, labour or Monster raving looney, anybody is better than him and if he had any semblance of common decency he would resign as PM, resign as an MP and spend his life making amends for his gross negligence and total lack of empathy or understanding by working for nothing for a charity that takes cares of families who have lost people to COVID.

It just saddens me what this country has become under his leadership, we are a great country reduced to a laughing stock.

If you sell yourself lies that it was all the European's fault for your country's declining living standards and loss of global standing. Not the fault of right wing politicians for degrading industry and failing to plan for the future, or stoking unrealistic expectations of Britain's place in the world by propogating delusional national myths.

Don't be surprised if you get an originator of some of those puffs about wonky Bananas and kippers.

When will those that continue to defend and support him open their eyes to the fact his negligence has killed thousands and thousands of our mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, friends and neighbours.
I hear ‘he did his best’. No he didn’t. He was derelict in the duties associated with his position.
i cannot use facile insults about the man. He is beyond redemption.
the country needs to demand his resignation and that of his cabinet. Nothing short of that will do. The independent enquiry should decide what type of criminal proceedings are necessary.

The simple answer, and it won't be popular, is that we give the vote to everybody over 18.
All those on the spectrum from thick as pig-shit to fucking genius get a vote.
And it's not just intelligence (or lack of it) that's the problem. It's a lack of understanding politics.
All those who worship celebrities and say "politics is boring" get to vote on topics about which they know fuck all. That's how a dickhead like Johnson gets to be in charge.
Would you fancy being treated by a doctor who is in the job thanks to votes from the public or would you prefer someone who has been through medical school and then convinced his peers of his suitability?
And the same applies to all other professions.
A knowledge of politics or current affairs will never be needed in order to vote. So those who tell the most convincing lies will continue to get elected. And Johnson is a very convincing liar. Couple him up with twats like Farage, Rees-Smug and bloody Gove, and it's no wonder we had a British version of the MAGA morons when the referendum was held.
I'm sure many leavers understood what they were voting for. But I'm equally sure the vast majority simply swallowed the bullshine.
It also doesn't help when Corbyn was so unelectable according to the media. I agreed on that point, but that's because I read some of the stuff he wrote, not because the papers hated him.
 
Cummings is reeling off a whole raft of comments, opinion, some facts maybe but where he falls down is on the question of why he stayed in post until he was sacked?

It seems that this has kicked off as it was widely reported that it was Johnson who personally briefed the media recently that Cummings was the ‘Chatty Rat’ (what a ridiculous nickname). I’d say that this was a direct result of Carrie Symonds putting pressure on Johnson as she was pissed off with Cummings. I can see them splitting up even sooner than Haz n Megz.

Absolutely nailed it. You can follow a line from 2016 right to the present day.

This is a Vote Leave Prime Minister with a Vote Leave Cabinet and with Vote Leave loyalists in all senior Whitehall positions. All of these people are either self-interested liars or more likely thick headed bottom licking self interested nodding dogs. Their incompetence and anti-foreigner obsessions brought us here.

It's notable that Gove's name is barely being mentioned. Was he not involved in any of this?

Also Kuennsberg pointed out that Johnson didn't deny saying "it only kills the over 80s".

I get the impression he was the biggest leaker of the cobra meetings that Cummings alluded to. But as he has a friend in low places (Murdoch) he seems very well protected.
 
Cummings testimony is specific an detailed. Set aside his motivation for doing this. His accusations should be forensically investigated and either found to be true or not.
He is saying that the PM and senior officials were not fit to deal with this crisis and as a result large numbers of people have died that shouldnt have.
if that isn’t good reason to create significant numbers of resignations I’m not sure what would.
