Jack Grealish

Yes, same peas in a pod.

Grealish is a great talent, an exciting player but he spends far too much time on his arse and a lot of it self inflicted.

He reminds me of Mick Channon back in the day, a very talented player who could or would not stay on his feet.
All about opinions, but to suggest Grealish cheats the same as rat face staggers me

Grealish is apparently the most fouled player in the league since they started collecting statistics. He draws the majority of those fouls because he has an incredible ability to take the ball extremely close to the defender; he can then shift his weight either way to unbalance his opponent, so in that sense, he’s extremely similar to Mahrez, only playing on the left. However, when Grealish shifts the defender he tends to create more space between himself and his opponent than Mahrez, and that allows him either to cross unopposed or drive into the space he has created. It is at that point when he often draws the foul, either because the defender takes him down or Grealish is quick enough to determine that he’ll gain more of an advantage from the free kick than he would from staying on his feet: footballing intelligence. Another attribute he has is that he has incredibly powerful legs and a fairly short running gait. So, in that regard, he’s probably more like Aguero in that he can use his centre of gravity and drive to burst through defences.

Of course, these are only footballing positives and have to be placed on the scales against the weight of his seemingly endless social negatives: hair band, hairstyle, punchable face, histrionics, driving offences, and sexual peccadilloes.

Totally disagree, it's in his game, a lot of players do it, part of the game I hate.

Last night Pogba and Rat face did it the whole game, players like Grealish with good ability don't have to and don't need to constantly go to ground like they have been shot, I lose all respect for players like that.

Cancelo does it for us, Rodri to, Fern dives and gets free kicks but at vital times when we are under threat, big difference to rolling about on the floor screaming for your mum.
This LITERALLY makes no sense.

Diving - bad when players from other clubs do it.

Acceptable - when our players do it.

FFS.

Fair enough we just have to respectfully disagree on this one.

Read again.

Tactical fouls when we are in trouble I have no issue with, players throwing themselves to the ground screaming in pain is pathetic.

Players falling to the deck looking at an opposition player , again, I have a problem with.

After the Foden pen incident I can't really blame any player for exaggerating contact. The refs are simply too dreadful to spot a legitimate foul otherwise. Carry on, Jack.
Same last night. Many criticising Fernandes’ antics and rightly so, but ref gives a yellow to Baily when Alcacer feigned being elbowed. There’s an element of if you can’t beat em, join em. Grealish doesn’t strike me as the worst by any means, but does encourage contact from opposing players, which is a different thing.

Since when did hairstyle, wearing a headband and having a punch able face become seen as a negative

No blue tinted glasses here, some of our players do it and I hate it, no player, even more so with great natural ability has to go to ground for no reason, as said, I lose all respect for players that do.
Of course the players shouldn't do it......but they do so because it works.Until we get officials that are capable enough to deal with cheating,it will continue, because as we have seen this season,it gets an average team into a much higher position in the league.

True, but also up to the managers/coaches they could stop a lot of it, and I believe we have one that's is against it.

Play acting and going down is the issue, being clever with tactical fouls I can live with, but screaming and rolling on the floor is pathetic.

It's all from a contact a mate has at the club, it involves Mbappé leaving PSG in the final year of his contract and them putting the feelers out for Raz to replace him. Apparently there's a lot of imponderables but it's a situation that could happen. You never know with rumours but as I said the only previous info from this guy (he works at City and I have no idea in which department) was when the Delph deal was seemingly dead he told my mate when it was being resurrected. Could turn out to be absolute bollocks :-)
Interesting, cheers

I had read it: “Cancelo does it for us, Rodri to, Fern dives and gets free kicks but at vital times when we are under threat”

Hypocritical to the max.

Is it your view that we need Grealish?

It works both ways. Often Phil will ride two or three awful challenges (Atalanta, Villa and PSG are the first examples I can think of but he does it all the time) and once he's clear then we end up totally outnumbering the defence.

Sometimes players will take the contact, hit the deck, win the free kick and the momentum is gone. Although there is a place for it like when you're trying to run down the clock, get a player booked etc.

Plus, from a psychological standpoint, it must be so demoralising when you put everything into taking someone out and they just bounce off you like you're a mild inconvenience.

As i keep saying, where we are concerned, football should always be about progression/improvement,so,from that perspective, yes.

He would improve the first 11,as would Haaland and/or Kane.
