I think you’re in dreamland if you think we get him for £60-70 million. It’ll be closer to £100mill, 4 years left on his deal, 25, England international. You really think we’re getting him for less than £70 mill who do you think we are Bayern fucking Munich?!!
I'm not in dreamland pal it's called a pandemic Grealish is good but he's done nowhere near enough to warrant 100m lol

100m not a chance, crazy money , especially in this climate.

Priority has to be a high class striker , that will be 100m plus, I simply cannot see the club spending another 100m on top of that for Grealish.

He signed a contract, I would think he would have wanted some sort of clause in that to let him leave for a sensible amount, and with the Luiz clause to barter with, 60m would be a realistic deal.

Regardless of what you think we should pay. It’s on Villa they’re in the driving seat and as I see it he’s not pushing for a move and they value him more than you do. If by the end of the summer he’s signed for us and it’s £70 mill fine I’ll hold my hands up and admit defeat would you do the same if he signs for close to £100mill?

Our priority must be a striker I agree. That’s not my argument. I have on good authority from a source at Villa there is no need to sell and the fee they want is £100mill. I hope we walk away and prioritise a left back and striker

What the club wants and what it gets are two different things.

Grealish is simply not a 100m pound player.

IF, Sterling was to leave, what his value? Nowhere near 100m and he is a proven International player and multi title winning club player, whatever you say, Grealish is unproven at the very top, looks a quality player, but still a big jump to Raheem's level.

Grealish didn’t play for ages that’s when our interest started it’s to do with the buy out clause! It’s villa who are not holding their end up when the contract was signed!

I think the club will have a value in mind as to what their willing to pay. If Villa reject, then the onus will be on Grealish to discuss internally with his board.

Luiz' clause is nothing to barter with. And expires 5th June anyway according to what was reported

I know the won't pay it.

Its 70 mil the clause right? I saw villa fans talk about it when he signed the contract, the clause is for champions league clubs.

As far as I’m aware there is no buyout clause. Which is why I was surprised he signed the multi year deal last year. Again I’ll hold my hands up if wrong but I don’t think we’ll get him purely to Villa asking for big money and us not paying

At the time I read 45m and 60m I think it’s 60m but if villa not up holding there deal maybe we get him in the Mahrez bracket 65m

I agree I don’t think he’s worth that much but if no release clause and the player not nudging for a move then it’s Villa who hold the cards

We would not pay anywhere near 100m, he simply is not at that level.

I don't think we would be happy paying that much for a striker but at the end of the day we need one and a high class one and they do cost big money.

this is what I love about this forum all different opinions and we will find out who is Right or wrong if I am Ill hold my hands up! But there is a buy out but in the uk by law the club don’t have to stick to it like Liverpool didn’t when Arsenal were after Jaws!

Agreed we have our valuation and they have theirs. If there’s a release clause it’s different if not then there’s a middle ground to be discussed and go from there. The rags did it with Sancho last year!
