Champions League Final | Post-Match Thread

Oh get a grip.
If you honestly believe they didn’t want to try to win that you’re deluded.
You could see the hurt across all their faces at the end.
You can’t win every game and today they weren’t helped by the manager.
The best team doesn’t always win.
It’s why we love football.
I’d rather they were fucking arsed from the start than crying like babies at the end

Well that sucked. Hope we can use all the positive performances against PSG and Dortmund and kick on next season. Use the pain from today to get us through the next final. Hope we show up for that one.

Fernandinho coming on didn't change the game. Chelsea were awesome, Peps lineup and tactics didn't lose this game, Chelsea won it.

Sorry, I'm not having that, we've been literally dogshite for over a generation and winning the title even once was something we never could have imagined.

Some of you lot are so entitled it beggars belief. We'll be back here at this stage and we'll win it. It's only a matter of time.
Pot kettle

There's a difference between questioning his ability in the CL and slating him as though he's the worst manager we've ever had. You can't say it's obviously cost us anything. Rodri and Ferdo started in the FA Cup v Chelsea and we lost. You just never know. What if we'd got the penalty which was dismissed in milliseconds? What if KDB hadn't gone off injured and just made that one killer pass late on? Te ay people are taling on here you'd think we had lost 6-0 or something. I'm as gutted as anyone but this is pathetic. How the fuck some of you lot coped when we were in division 2 I'll never know.

There's a lot of "if's" in there!

I don't think I've seen anyone saying Pep is a bad manager, certainly I haven't but, when several poor team selections in huge European & domestic cup games have arguably been the cause of our downfall in those competitions, I think people are quite within their rights to question the manager and his approach in those particular situations.

As for those League 2 days (I prefer to think of them as Division 3!), I was actually going to far more games back then and tbh, some of it was a right fucking laugh :-)

What game were you watching where you picked out Sterling's performance as shit? Come on man. Ive been on his case all season but he was our best player in the first half (not saying a lot). The tactics were wrong as you said and our players (KDB, Mahrez who was particularly dreadful, Walker first half) were bad.
I am a bit emotional and going to have a drink. Not saying I will change my mind but I don't want to argue right now.

Ffs .. get me on that plane and get me home

what a complete anti climax. What a complete no show. We’ve had more damaging defeats in important games before but that is right up there with the biggest ever disappointments

I wouldn’t mind if we’d gone down fighting but we lost without even a whimper

very very poor from everybody including pep. Just play the team that battered PSG twice ffs

Feel sorry for you lot there mate I really do. I'm not saying it in a spoilt way like we deserve to win every game but the least you lot deserve there is our best team out on that pitch.

Fucking disgrace that.

I’m gutted we lost. I was surprised we started without a DM but could see why. Pep obv hoping we would control things. But too many people did not perform. We were all over the place first half. We could not control the game and Chelsea did at the right time. Super Kev was awful Phil was poor and so was gundog which did not help as these guys run the show. Chelsea deserved it as we did not show up. The reaction towards pep is a bit much. It was 1 player change from wot everyone thot wud play. That does not make us play so poorly. Plus we cud not put two oases together. We were just poor

But it clearly did make us play poorly and we probably conceded their goal bcoz of it too. The balance of the team just wasnt the same without a ferna or rodri. What's the point in playing gundog there who cant impact the game the same and doesnt understand dm positioning aswell as the other 2? Just Baffled.

Would of Fernandinho stopped Chelsea’s goal? The answer is no. Him starting tonight wasn’t the reason the lost. Bore off with that shite
Yeah but the lack of the extra player in front of the CH made it a lot more likely to happen. Goals like that always look bad for the CH’s but a good DM usually stops the situation developing in the first place

Only positive is that more of us will be there at the next one.

Very disappointed. But I think fans were largely over confident after this season, so it feels particularly gutting.

Pep selected the wrong team - fairly simple, and we didn't really have a plan B. Then when it was clear things weren't working and Kevin went off, just punting on a load of attackers at the end, with no way of getting the ball to them.

So disappointing. But it's a cup final, against a good team with a good manager, things can go wrong.
overconfidence and arrogance, a fatal trait of a genius,
