Champions League Final | Post-Match Thread

how did we know he'd fuck about. he rotates in Derbies and semi finals , now a major final . unforgivable.
sooner he's gone the better . we'll still win stuff , these players are too good not to. assuming they are picked of course .
How much do you want per week?
Three year deal enough?
Please prepare a presentation on what you will bring to the role

Havertz could have gone down from his ill advised lunge & we‘d have been playing for 50 minutes with 10 men but still 0-0. Once again, in the biggest match, like his shit show against Lyon last year, makes a big mistake. Should have ushered Havertz into the box then forced him into a shot, Havertz has a shit finishing record this season so would likely have missed. Either way, he gets to use his hands in the box..poor decision making from Ederson.
Exactly that! He regularly goes walkabouts and it is only good fortune that prevents the goal.
he is also not a great shot stopper in all honesty and if he was in a lesser team that required more of him, I think he will be found wanting! Obviously unbelievable with his feet though.

Resting players and going through the motions?

They were playing for top 4 right until the final game,
And it told.
We looked like it was the first game of the season, trying to gauge a formula whereas they seemed already in the groove

As soon as John Stones had his (all too-characteristic) wobbles, you could see the impact of an exposed defensive back line. The alarm well bells were ringing very early on, but nothing was done to address it as that is not pep’s way. He prefers to wait until the 60/70/80th minute, which is normally too late and why he has naff stats for recovering from going behind!
Stones was all over the shop last night, started badly and didn’t get any better. He was pulled all over the place by their front guys & that pathetic defending in the build up to the Pulisc miss....well....had such a good season as well.

Definitely should have made the change after about 30 minutes. We were all screaming for a change because of the gaping whole in the middle which Chelsea were trying to exploit. The goal was no surprise. I have no idea why Pep didn't react. Was he just being stubborn? It was just like the Lyon match. Totally baffling. Chelsea were superb though so maybe they would have beaten us anyway. Kante was inspired. But we never gave ourselves a chance.

Yep, we looked better when he came on as well which makes it worse

Yep I said this once we was 1-0 down though the damage was done. They just shut up shop and started with the time wasting. We couldn't play our natural game we have been playing all season then once that was done, it got all a bit desperate and we just threw Jesus and Aguero on.

Sad thing for supporters is we never looked in the game. The pattern was set in the first 5 mins and nothing changed till the last 10 minutes when we resorted to long balls in the mixer. We at least stabilised when fern came on as players then knew their positions.

Wish folk would stop making out that Tuchel is some kind of messiah had Pep not played into his hands 3 times then nobody would be going on about him .......... Leicester sussed him out ...... a bang average Arsenal and Villa team did the same .......... he’s had a free ride this season with no pressure on him at all ......... I mean you couldn’t have handed him a better semi final line up than a declining Madrid side ........... put it this way 2 seasons down the line he will be at pastures new ......... it’s all well and good this defensive football when it’s working but like Mourinho once it stops then your on very much borrowed time

They played the perfect game against us and Tuchel’s deserves credit for it.

They defended excellently, created much better chances than us and kept the ball when they needed to.

has anyone mentioned the shit covering by Zinchenko for the goal plus our utterly inept forward line.
I think loads of posters have.
The goal was a catalogue of errors
Walker getting caught up the pitch, Stones in no man's land, Dias going over to the right of the pitch to cover, Zinchenko letting his man the wrong side of him.
This is very similar to the Dallas goal for Leeds, Shaws for United and the Ziyech goal for Chelsea.
Caught out on the right and left back and centre halves unable to cover

I don’t remember Pep ever making a first half substitution. It is just not what he does and probably yes, it’s down to stubbornness.

What Pep did last night is was and will be forever undefendable.
Yet some people still think the emporer is wearing the finest cloths when in the cold light of day he us in fact he is stark bollock naked.
I agree last nights team selection was wrong. But you are aware that there is a middle ground between Pep the fraud and the sun shines out of his arse?
If you think last night was indefensible, tell me what you would like to see happen?

Puzzles me how the greatest manager ever couldn't see what the fans were screaming about.... ie the gaping hole.
It's only by good fortune we weren't three down at HT.

I mean he selected the wrong formation but had plenty of time to correct it before their goal.

It helps when Pep doesn’t go with his strongest line up though ......... mark my words 2 years from now he will be gone ....... a master cheerleader when things are going well but once it turns I bet there is mass falling out with players and the media etc ............Leicester played his side the right way just lay them at there own game it’s not a great watch but the result is all that matters in the end
