Tries hard and is a team player but when we really need a goal he is nowhere to be seen. His place must be in jeopardy.
i've thought about it more and i don't know what his place in the team is does he just accept being second or eve third choice striker if torres is used there more next season. A back up winger maybe but can he actually compete with the likes of foden, marhrez and stertling for those spots im not sure.

The only chance he has at succeeding with city is to move him to LW. Sterling is...I don’t actually know what he is anymore. We create in a good day 20+ chances and he rarely scores. On a bad day no chance. Put sentiment aside he probable needs moved on now.

sterlings goals put him ahead of him. could you ever see jesus get 20 league goals from the left?

Yes actually, probably 1 of the fastest players we have. His aggression and work ethic will also help. It won’t happen anyway as Phil should be first choice unless pep wants him to play the silva role next season.

I don’t think people take into consideration that he’s not really had a run off games to gain consistency. He’s got all the attributes es to be a fantastic striker, and I wouldn’t loose faith in him yet.

I think the club would regret letting him go.

He's been here four and half years now, how long are we supposed to wait for this fantastic striker to appear?
He's no better or worse than when he came here .
If we keep holding on to players that are a level below the top we'll stagnate.
Hopefully he moves on this summer, Nice lad, average fooballer.

Jesus had got one more season I think. He works his heart out but I’m not sure that’s enough. I want him to do well but it’s very stop start with him.

he will still score double figures next season & that will hold his value but I see him gone in 12/18 months

Its quite a strange situation where many on here refer to Dickov as a legend and have no appreciation of Jesus. Dickov scored a couple of important goals and that was it. He hardly ever produced more than 10 goals in a season. If he had been a more productive striker we would not have been down in the third division.

I get your point I just think expectations are much greater than the dickov time. As fans we want Jesus scoring but pep clearly wants something else. Jesus is dammed either way. I’m hoping it comes good for him as I see a lot of clever football from Jesus. I just don’t think he’s a striker though & that’s a lot of pressure on his shoulders

Yeah Dickov was shit and so were we. People loved him because he ran about a lot and then obviously scored that goal. Jesus as you’d expect is levels and levels better than Dickov but not a world class striker and we need one.

Id be quite happy if he wants to play wide or be a back up striker again. Suppose it will be down to him and how far he thinks he can go in the game as a striker.

I have seen some great strikers down the years, from battering rams to fox-in-the-box types. All of them have something that cannot be taught it seems, something that applies to the very best in any position, really, but as fans the striker role is the one we focus on mainly. Wingers used to be up there but not so much these days, 'keepers are behind most of the time but not by much.
Gabbie has not got that bit of magic to be a world-class striker, imho, David Silva didn't either, still a fantastic player. That is why when the chance comes to buy a genuine world--class striker comes the price will be astrnomical. For my money Gabbie has the skill to play in the chorus, just not the lead singer.
What seems a simple task from the stands is obviously not, but why, is a mystery.
