I personally have had enough of restrictions and just want to get back to some semblance of normality.
I don't like those last couple of points on Scotland's chart. Looks like it's about to steepen further?
what are you being restricted so much that doesn't bring normality ?
im seeing packed pub gardens, going for nice walks, playing footie for my team, going gym
why is life so unbearable like it is ?
Not sure the exact phasing of restrictions in Scotland, but there are reasons to be gloomy:
Recent relaxation may only just starting to be reflected and could cause further acceleration.
Rise looks very close to exponential with a fast doubling.
And reasons to be optimistic:
Every day is more people vaccinated.
Summer (even in Scotland!) is nearly upon us and should reduce R
There are places where spikes have been flattened.
Personally: no idea what will happen next. Very uncertain.
GM cases 419 - down 212 on yeserday. But up 96 on last week. As you can see Manchester and Stockport drove most of that wk to wk rse on their own.
But Manchester and Bolton drove most of the day to day fall with all the other boroughs chipping in other than Stockport who bucked the trend.
That 212 day to day fall is out of a NW fall of 258 today - from 1038 to 780.
So most of that fall was in GM which is really good news.
Week to week the NW is up by 214 and that 96 rise week to week is also below par so very good news.
Conclusion - very good day for GM. But less so for Stockport.
Unfortuntely it really does look like Stockport is the next area going into trouble. Which given it has the best vaccination numbers in GM is a little concerning.
The good news first.
NOT ONE GM borough over 100 for the first time in 3 weeks.
BOROUGH CASES TODAY / DAY TO DAY / WEEK TO WEEK
BOLTON 98 / Down 58 / Down 19
BURY 42 / Down 7 / UP 28
MANCHESTER 97 / Down 68 / UP 42
OLDHAM 18 / Down 13 / Down 16
ROCHDALE 22 / Down 7 / Down 2
SALFORD 34 / Down 29 / UP 13
STOCKPORT 47 /UP 14 / UP 33
TAMESIDE 15 / Down 18 / UP 10
TRAFFORD 18 / Down 21 / UP 8
WIGAN 28 / Down 20 / Down 6
As you can see some pretty good numbers there day to day and week to week. For most boroughs.
But no question who had the worst of it. Stockport had a very bad day.
A bit of a puzzle as to why given its vaccine numbers.
May just be the up and down numbers caused by the change in methods that do not delete false positives day to day just on the overall total that will see some days artificually up and others artificially dowm and tomorrow it will be down when everywhere else is up.
But Zoe saw a big rise here too yesterday in their reported symptoms.

Apart from live music and a packed Etihad/London Stadium and the fact that the vast majority of hospitality businesses aren't financially viable with reduced capacity and the cost of table service ?what are you being restricted so much that doesn't bring normality ?

Cases 3165 from 585, 399 pillar 1 & 2 tests
Unsurprisingly testing very low over past few days. Only 465 K 2 days ago.
The most was 654 K 3 days ago.
For comparison 7 days ago there 350 K more tests than today. For 672 fewer cases.
You are the conspiracy theorist. The conspiracy theorists predicted this, people would just accept the restrictions eventually and I’m seeing more and more of this now. It might not affect you, I assume you are in a good safe job with house you possibly own and are financially secure? This isn’t the case for millions ‘as it is’ and there are still shit loads on furlough who will probably lose their jobs if things don’t go back to normal soon.
Hardly. My family live there. I just report the data and what it flags up. You take it or leave it.I live in Stockport so notice every time you say this and the amount of times you’ve predicted Stockport of going to be in trouble only for it not to has been bordering on ridiculous. I know you said you’re friends with the MP or something but have you got some kind of beef with the area?
