Songs that rip off other songs.

Was stuck in traffic yesterday and listening to “Morning Glory” when I suddenly realized it rips the riff from REM’s “The One I Love.” Then I found out everyone knows this already which is perhaps why no one’s mentioned it.
I may have known it but I can't remember knowing it so it's quite possible that I didn't know it.

Although the chorus is different the verses seem to lend a lot from this... I think he's also copying Mick Jagger a bit.

Wasn't that intentional though rather than ripping it off?
Every song in the LP was a homage to different 60s/70s musicians

I'm pretty certain that Pink Floyd had been enjoying this majestic track when they came up with Shine On You Crazy Diamond.

Neil Young wrote Ambulance Blues after hearing this song

Brian Wilson completely lifted Surfin' USA from Chuck Berry's Sweet Little Sixteen. No doubt Murray Wilson thought they could get away with it, until Chuck Berry and his publisher put their foot down, earning Berry a co-writing credit and his publisher the rights to the song.
