if you're old/"vulnerable" and you've decided that you don't want a vaccine, you can fuck off and die as far as I'm concerned. Give that hospital bed to someone more deserving

The inconvenient reality we have to deal with, however, whether we like it or not, is that people in this bracket will be in a hospital bed, denying it to someone more deserving, unless we ensure there us no major wave now.

Which is why I should be made our benevolent dictator. My manifesto:

- kick all the anti vaxxers out of hospital beds
- push all of merseyside into the ocean, nobody needs it
- introduce safe standing and pitch side pints

That's about it.

This is how I feel.

I'm sick of repeating myself tbh but if you're old/"vulnerable" and you've decided that you don't want a vaccine, you can fuck off and die as far as I'm concerned. Give that hospital bed to someone more deserving.

Obvious exception is people who've been medically advised not to have a jab for whatever reason.

Empathy is clearly not one of your strong points. People will have their own reasons and their own experiences. You are in no position to judge them.

13 all settings deaths

It was 12 on Wednesday last week most fair representation. It was actually 0 last Tuesday. But Bank Holiday data.

Supporting my suspicions of the uptick in deaths in England is that in the seven days up to that 12 five of the seven days had single figure numbers.

In the week up to today's 13 five of the seven did NOT have single figure numbers.

6048 cases is double the 3165 last week which was up from 2493 the week before.

915, 404 pillar 1 & 2 tests - 311K fewer than the tests done yesterday which found 365 fewer cases

It should come as no surprise. I think people forget that London has the largest Indian (absolute) population (c550k), and a number of those may well have travelled to India recently, and that the population of the capital is a bit bigger than the NW.

but but but - they can't have - they shut the borders didn't they?........... eh? Johnson did what?...... really......

Unless they're medically told not to have a vaccine, any "reason" they can possibly come up with is utter fucking waffle.

We need everyone to be taking up the vaccine, I've got absolutely zero time for the anti vaxxers. Bunch of thick ignorant cunts.

Some of them may have mental health problems. Some may have learning difficulties and refuse to receive it. Some have had their mind poisoned by others and do not have the mental capacity to make a judgement on their own. There will be some who are told by their partners they cannot have the jab. Some partners may not even allow their wives to have any contact with health services. Some may have an issue with medicine having had a particularly bad experience and are mentally scarred by it.

Why do you think non-white British are less likely to be vaccinated? People of different ethnic groups are more likely to be 'cunts' than others?

The situation isn't quite as black and white as you make out.

Bolton 127 cases - up 13 on yesterday and up 29 week to week. First number not quite so good in a few days.

Not a good day in GM as you might expect, Almost everywhere up multiple times week to week.

Bury actually were the lowest scorers today on 50 - just 8 up week to week.

But Bolton, Stockport and Salford (only 10 behind Bolton today) were in three figures again. And Manchester over 200 at 214.

Many places trippled week on week.

Stockport only doubled but posts 102 for the third time in 5 days and does at leat seem to have flattened off at around 100.

Wigan similarly has flattened in the high 80s.

Oldham - which is best in GM right now also has started to slowly escalate - last week 18, today 76

You can see why these numbers have prompted ation in GM though it was pretty clear where we were headed last week.

Nope. It's also people with weakened immune immune systems and those who can't take the vaccine. And a number of others who don't fit any category. There's no way you or I know the breakdown. I understand people want to get on with it, but we can't just make up what we want about reality to support our argument. People wouldn't accept others being forced to get the vaccine. Now what? The problem - the cost in lives and to general health (let's not forget we have over 1m long covid patients out there, and their long term prognosis is unkown) - is much smaller but it didn't disappear. There's time to go through all of this in an adult fashion, and the sooner people accept the facts people at the top cannot dispute or ignore, and get on with working through the issues - rather than just fitting things into their own preferred version of reality, the better.

I'm sorry but I disagree with you. Yes, there are people who can't have the vaccine. My sympathies are with them. Should we hamper our economy and reduce everyone else's freedoms to cater for them? Unfortunately for them, no. We are always going to have COVID now. There's nothing we can do about it, so other than vaccinating as many people who can and want to be vaccinated, we may as well crack on and these people will have to be more careful than the rest of us.

What about the people who require cancer treatment and other medical procedures whilst you have high numbers of a combination of the following:

1/ People who were vaccinated but unfortunately within the minority who are not fully protected and require treatment
2/ Idiots who refuse to take the vaccine and now require medical help
3/ People who can't be vaccinated for medical reasons who contract Covid and require help
4/ People who haven't yet been offered a vaccine, or at least two doses, who are vulnerable but didn't previously know until contracting Covid

There are a lot people susceptible to Covid out there and a lot of people who require medical treatment for a range of issues which have nothing to do with Covid. It's not just 'idiots' which the hospitals will have to contend with.

But the hospitals are under minimal stress with COVID currently. There are fewer COVID patients in hospital than there are hospitals in the UK.

At the height of the pandemic, we coped with 40k COVID patients. >1k patients in hospital with COVID is ultimately negligible and our health service has dealt with much higher numbers of flu patients for decades. With the vaccine rollout, it's unlikely we'll get anywhere near 20k patients at one time, never mind 40k again.

It's all fear-mongering, what-ifs and worst-case scenarios. We need to have a bit of courage and stop letting COVID control every aspect of our lives now.

It would be good to see a breakdown of the age of people testing positive.

The school holidays have ended, so loads of children will have to take tests which will shoot the numbers up, no?

Well i was planning on going to Wales at the weekend but now I'm not sure that will be on. I know it's guidance but fuck me, I'm not sure how welcome I'd be travelling there now!! all a bit of a muddle as per.
Just ignore the guidance and go (assuming you don't have symptoms. Even better if you can take a test before you go).

I went this weekend. It was bloody lovely.

Think you asked that before (apologies if it was someone else) but I pointed you or them to the heat maps and posted some of them on here after your post.

These are by borough and vsually show the age of who is catching it.

I also post regularly on here the N Ireland age data across a week as that is available which shows a clear pattern like the England ones do.

And Ayrshire posts the Scottish data daily. Check around 6.30 PM last night for the latest.

If you search on my posts above you will find these things.

It is very clear in N Ireland - 75% under 40 - about 5% over 60.

Thanks.

The info you post is a brilliant contribution to the thread.

North West up to and by a new highest number at 1840 - an increase week to week of 1060 Not good.

Next nearest London on 773 - over 1000 behind.

Look at the ages of those who are infected:

Young children. On the basis of that we might expect vaccination of children?

Depends on whether you tolerate disruption to education, and whether it spreads to older groups. Imo it will find older unvaccinated people if it spreads in younger people....parents, grandparents.

It will be self-limiting though.

Is this the first time this data has been available on gov.uk? Not seen it before.
