Micah Richards the pundit

Seen the Roy Keane Euro thing earlier, and now the BBC one.
Got to be honest, but tired with it. It isn’t football punditry
True but it is still better than having to listen to the out of date useless twats like Dion upstairs downstairs Dublin. Micah is doing it his way and City have another mostly positive voice in the media. Compare that prick Hinchcliffe and it’s night and day.

I like Micah. Doesn’t take him self to seriously although as time goes by will probably need to add a bit more insight in to tactics etc but for now I quite like him being on the tv and being pro City.
Needs to sort out his wardrobe as he wears some tight Arse clothing that just looks uncomfortable. I know he is built but come on man get the next size up.

Maybe its an age thing as my son and grandkids think this is great fun and love when he laughs out loud.
I just can't take him seriously.
But are folk laughing with him or at him?
City fans have been crying out for decent representation in the media for years and we finally get it - but we get the court jester.

Nedum and Sinclair over Micah every day

Micah is a terrible pundit but hopefully with experience he can improve. He needs to work harder rather than acting like a court jester. Ned is very insightful ans comes across very well shame the tv stations have not taken to him.

The rags and Red Scouse media controlling twats don't want a City objective that is positive / constructive of City and demeaning of the history boys.
So they employ Micah that everyone laughs at......

Footy show producers are trying to get a bit more "personality" in the shows, that's why we are seeing an attempt to imitate Top Gear (remember the old format, compared to the Clarkson era?)
I'm not sure what I prefer, so far. The old stiff and stuffy pundits, or the new "avin a larf, bantz, buddies" version.
One thing is clear the football insight and intelligence levels haven't been upped!

Decent football analysis is hard to find. Micah doesn't have the deepest insight and wasn't the greatest player so he plays up to his joker tag instead and is entertaining.

I'd rather that than listen to people like Stuart Pearce who somehow works in the game despite clearly being a moron.

Maybe it is simply that your average footballer tends to have a below average IQ, but when compared to cricket and rugby the standards are ridiculously low.

It's better then to be entertained than listen to idiots pretend they know what they are talking about.

It's unfortunate that someone like Linekar didn't go into management/coaching or analysis and instead took the presenting route. He is one of the few that actually has a sufficient IQ to analyse the game. Football journalists are equally shite. You only have to listen to the questions Southgate faces to see the problem. But the majority of the country are happy with the standards because they're equally thick.

The weird thing with Micah is that he can actually be an excellent pundit when he's allowed to be. I saw him on a foreign channel after one of our games last season with Ian Wright (who normally plays the same big laugh joker role as Micah) and they were both brilliant, they had a real in depth discussion regarding the tactics used in the game and where each team got it right and got it wrong. It was an actual interesting discussion rather than just talking about the pre-decided minor talking points and I actually came away from it feeling like they spoke about things that your average man in the pub wouldn't have spotted. The post match program they were on was clearly aimed at actual fans of football rather than idiotic banter kids though so I think the jovial laughing personality is an editorial decision, probably the same as Keane's grumpy Irishman schtick or Carragher's super Scouse 'come on Liverpool' persona.

I have met a few (old) ex footballers and when I was in my 20s I was intimidated, thought my opinion was wrong because their attitude was "you've never played the game at the highest level have yer".
I eventually realised I'd never written a song that had got in the charts, but I knew what was good (in my opinion) and what wasn't.
Most footballers have no idea. They have played but haven't watched games like WE do. Most fans watch around 3 or 4 games every week, so we do have an insight.
They DO have agendas, because they like a player or they know/like/have heard good things about individuals.
Pep's a genius, one of the greatest managers ever BUT fans know he got his team wrong for the CL final.
Now I don't have to have played the game to formalise that opinion!

He kept repeating on Sky & the BBC that Sergio was a terrible trainer at City over a decade ago, which was getting abit tiresome. Whereas other pundits were giving eulogies and praise in summarising Aguero's career and record breaking contribution to the EPL.

This is an extract of what he said about which team will win the Euros…I actually think France are going to struggle. They have got too much quality and that means too many arguments.

really? A team with too much quality has too many arguments?

Everyone’s thinks their opinion is right otherwise it wouldn’t be their opinion would it?

I hope at some stage a TV company gets Stuart Pearce, Micha and Ashley Cole on the same panel, the level of intelligence will be stunning.
Fuck me you're putting some hours in slagging Richards off.
And while you're doing it he's flown all around the world watching footy and getting paid for it from several multinationals. What a thick fucker eh?
