Seasoncard - 2021/22

@OffertonBlue I'm really sorry but I had to laugh out loud at your response there. I really hope they are not the death of you (or of me come to that because, although I had a relatively easy time of it, my feelings are similar.
But with me it is because I love the club and hate that these things keep going wrong. I can't defend what has been happening because it is NOT RIGHT!! (sorry for shouting!) and I really want to defend the club. :-(

Hope things improve soon for everybody.

NEW: MOBILE TICKETS

The Club will be introducing mobile ticketing for all matches at the Etihad Stadium for the 2021/22 season. This follows its successful trial at the Etihad Stadium at the Club’s final match of the 2020/21 season. Alternative ticket methods will be available for supporters should these be required.

From the City website.
I think he was trying to ascertain what the alternative methods are, so asked the club.

For Everton it was "use someone else's phone" and then "call back from Wednesday and wait another 2/3 hours on a phone queue" and after that "I can't do paper tickets, it is another team, they are not in until Friday so you will get them then" - Got them Thursday.

OK I see what you mean but, for me, who also wants an alternative method I actually thought that for the club it would be sensible (& I realise that sensible and City don't always compute) to wait and see how many want/need alternative method before announcing.
e.g. if 10,000 wanted an alternative then it is viable/economical to use the old credit card type season card.
If only 1,000 wanted an alternative then maybe print at home.

In other words I was waiting until the furore over the renewals/relocations was sorted as the club have told us there will be an alternative. :-)

Liverpool are charging £5 for plastic cards which seems expensive compared to the cost but better than spending 2 hour plus on the phone.

exactly right. They haven’t announced the options yet but as many of us don’t want to use - or don’t have - a smart phone, there will be a suitable alternative.
It’s just a case of the club finding out the scale of the issue and then deciding the best way to deal with it.

I filled this in last night as soon as it was posted by Supporter Services on Twitter.

No call back of course, has anyone else had Supporter Services ring them ?
No.

I'd already cancelled my direct debits but still filled in this form just as an opportunity to verbally register my frustration, if indeed I ever got a call. Needless to say, nothing yet.

Lots of clubs have formal ticket sharing arrangements which enables the club to know who sits on what seat and enables a supporter who cannot attend at short notice to issue it to someone else. This stops people having to queue at the ticket office on match day. That's the advantage of mobile ticketing but this is City.

It's been brought in half arsed, communicated terribly and the motives for mobile ticket remain dubious in the void of no further information. What's laughable is they think Everton worked and they're doing us a favour when all it'll lead to for a lot of games next season is.... Queues at the ticket office on match day.

Had a look on the Scouse website (virus scan just finished) and noticed that they are giving the opportunity to transfer the Digital Season Tickets to 6 friends and family members. They seem to be using the same NFC technology as us so maybes we'll be getting something similar? Didn't see owt on there about plastic card alternatives though.

Am I able to transfer my seat to someone else if I cannot make it to a game, and how do I do this?
Yes, you will be able to transfer your seat to one of up to six individual, named, Friends and Family members.

City are planning to introduce this facility (not sure whether it'll be limited to just F&F members though) but can't guarantee that it will be available from the start of the season.

Cup schemes were pre-ticked on mine but they showed on my account after receiving confirmation email. Can't remember which earlier season also showed but it wasn't 2019/20. Did you have to click anything to activate the debit card for schemes?

Yes. They asked me to confirm my debit card which I did. That was for FA Cup marked 2021/22.Only when I moved on to UEFA and League Cup that I hit a brick wall with the earlier years marked against them. Anyway, there's apparently a fair bit of time before this has to be dealt with so I'll give it another go in a few days and I can always phone supporter services once things calm down a bit.

Thanks for your help mate appreciate it.

You can select your Cup schemes in the renewal process by ticking the boxes, mine are all showing as 21/22 season so maybe check yours again. The closing date for the League Cup and CL is August 31st, FA Cup is 30th November.

That's really helpful mate, thanks a lot. I'll be giving it another go when I can muster the will!

you can almost guarantee it'll be a phone call to supporter services in a set window to advise you don't want the mobile ticket version and therefore more chaos ;)

So if that's the case we can share it with someone who already has a season card or someone who has bought a citizens membership then,? Would this exclude people coming for one off games then?
