Jack Grealish

This is nonsense, they simply don't see the possibilities or are not brave enough to try. We need more "balls" players and hopefully Grealish will be one of them.
Fair enough if you want to think like that. But if our players are lacking in bravery it's almost certainly due to one of the most risk-averse possession-heavy philosophy managers in the world telling them not to be too direct for the sake of it.

Funnily enough given how much I just complained about watching too much football I got on the Grealish is really, really good hype train during project restart when I saw a lot of Villa games.

Until we heard Bernardo was going though, I didn't want or really think it would happen as I didn't see the role he would have in the squad. Between Bernardo and Mahrez I think we cover everything Grealish can bring to a side, but now Bernardo seems to be on his way out it makes complete sense.

I also think Pep's going to make him a number 8.

I feel very similar to you. I've said this before but I think he has all the capabilities to play as an #8. I think he's got the capacity to play the "pausa" role too. What excites me though is the thought of him and Phil on the left. They're both so comfortable on the inside and can switch and interchange regularly. I think we'll be such a threat all over the pitch next season.

Barney Daniels Walks on Water......

Sang by County fans after he scored 4 (might even have. been 5) in one match I think.....

I was only a nipper, so could be wrong,
Originally watched him at Ashton and amazed he actually played for us. 11 appearances and 2 goals and ended up back at Ashton. 17 in 47 for Stockport. My username is after my dad shouting ‘Come on Barney’ in one of his appearances when he scored against I think it was Leicester, maybe two. From Barney to Aguero and now maybe Kane totally unreal!

Both are worth what a buying club are willing to pay. I'm getting a bit sick of people going on about Bernardo's valuation as if they know what it actually is. If he's unhappy and desperately wants to leave should we price him out of a move? Or should we show a bit of compassion and grant him a move at a reasonable price, after the service he's given? We tend to treat our players well, I hope that continues.

Not really.

Player value determined by two major factors, the quality of the player + the length of his contract.

IF the player become unhappy, that doesn't mean his value should drop couple millions.

Grealish is not half as good as Bernardo, so buying him to replace Bernardo will be another crime from the 3 amigos ( Pep, Txiki & Ferran ).

Yes, I think an 8 too. Left of a front 3 makes less sense considering we have Foden, Sterling, Torres and Jesus to play there.

Foden……….….Kane………...Mahrez
………….Grealish…De Bruyne……….
……………….Rodri/Gundo……………..
Zinchenko…Dias...Stones….Walker
……………….….Ederson…………………..

How is Grealish not half as good as Bernardo? It’s going to be fun seeing the general consensus change next season when Grealish becomes an untouchable in our team.

Swap Mahrez for a back in form Sterling (need more than one proper goalscorer IMO) and I like that side a hell of a lot.

We could be adding the league’s 2nd best creative player to play alongside the league’s no.1 creative player, and then putting the league’s best striker infront of them.

We’d be back to being a team with so much power. I feel like that was always a strength of ours when the spine was Kompany, Yaya, Aguero. Grealish is a tank, impossible to get the ball off legally. Kane is a type of striker we haven’t had for a while. There’s Dias who will continue to evolve as a leader of this squad. Walker is a beast. KDB when fully fit has extraordinary physicality. It’s really powerful. Yet full of guile also. And enough youthful vibrancy. It has everything really, other than searing pace in attack, so yes, Sterling has a clear opportunity if he can regain his form.

Surely there must be a clause in Grealish's contract with Villa to allow this? Makes no sense that Villa would accept 100m yet are trying to offer Grealish a new deal. Wouldn't they just reject any offer instead of offering a new deal?

Another crime from the 3 Amigos?

What are their other crimes? Winning a domestic quadruple? Becoming Centurions? Or winning 3 out of 4 titles?

Don't mind him

He's had a face on him like a slapped arse ever since Sane was sold

How, statistically, has Grealish been half the player that Bernardo is?

Amidst all the value judgements about his hair and how much he costs, this is very, very clearly the only analysis that matters and the one city will be going on.

Two players in the middle who draw defenders out, one of the best carriers of the ball and one of the best middle distance passers, a striker who can drop deep to collect the ball while also playing as a basic number 9, and players on the wing who can come inside and outside. Mahrez and Kev on one side with Grealish and Foden on the other, with Kane in the box, is such a scary prospect for the rest of the league I can't see how there is even a debate on here about whether we should going for anyone else.
