Its like there is some internal pressure on pundits / commentators to big up everything he does.

Every decent pass he makes is highlighted with some cliche "thats some real class from pogba" while its something every midfielder does multiple times per game, Xhaka for example had far more impressive passes throughout the match which the commentators gave praise but only in a patronising manner it felt like.

They then never mention him jogging around out of position to help, losing the ball then complaining and how he goes long periods without having any impact on the game.

Each game they have the same discussion making up however many excuses for how to "unlock" him by surrounding him by other good players so he doesnt have to do any work. If he was this world class player he wouldnt need 2 guys beside him to cover for his shit effort just so he can play a few balls over the top and score one long range goal every 100 games.

You also never hear mentioned the fact he cost £89m, at the time the most expensive transfer ever (compared to every city player being named with their price).

Pogba did score a stunning goal, some of his passing was elite, great vision accuracy, anyone who denies that is a numpty or didn't watch the game.

His weakness is defensively, he just doesnt like doing the hard work. He is a ball watcher, forwards run off him, and he jogs around aimlessly when defending.

You could be describing anyone of 100 players who regularly play in the PL with that description.

Enjoy the crap, I do. Let the Scum give him a new contract, let him continue to flatter to deceive, let them continue to buy players to ‘release him.’ He’s a players fraud and a marketing dream… so perfect for the Scum. Next up contract renewal for that promising youngster JizzyShinguard and maybe a further one year extension for Phil the face.

Exactly right. A world class performance can never include sloppy, can't be arsed defensive work which ultimately cost his team a place in the competition.
