This is a letter to Boris Johnson from my union,Unison.
Its a plea basically for him to get his finger out and give us a proper pay rise,anyone can sign,I'd be glad if you can too,Cheers.

Its part of a year long ongoing nhs union drive for restoritive pay,after 8 years of pay freezes during the austerity years
after all what was done last year and still,now.
also to hopefully stop more and more people leaving the nhs

Probably correct as the bands posted above aren't qualified nurse bands until band 5.

I'm not saying they don't deserve a rise, however it is same or sometimes worse for the rest of the public sector, with no rises this year for a lot and next to nothing for about 6 years 2009-15.

Whilst some people in the public sector may be able to get better jobs in the private sector, it wouldn't apply at most SMEs with shit wages and a pound of flesh ethos with 20 days annual leave.

If you want a wage rise the best way is getting another job.

thats over 10 years so about 3% a year, sounds about right

once they are qualified they start at 22k (about 10 pounds an hour an hour)
slightly higher in london
dont hit 35k until approx 12 years of service, depending on development etc
again slightly sooner in london

Nurses/doctors earn significantly more than the living wage while millions struggle on the minimum wage. Who is the most deserving? The country has to pay these wages and we are walking into economic oblivion, the well will run dry very soon!

Why is 2k the magic number? It's awful nurses don't earn enough, and firemen, and those in the types of jobs where any normal person would have to be insane to do them.
The way things work, the NHS staff should ask for 5k more, then they might actually get 2..

i agree that the poorest need to be paid more
are these very low paid workers employed by the government? the answer is no
are you arguing that because the private sector is screwing over the poor means its ok for the government to screw over the health workers?
