Probably correct as the bands posted above aren't qualified nurse bands until band 5.Average salary for a nurse in NHS is appox 35k
I'm not saying they don't deserve a rise, however it is same or sometimes worse for the rest of the public sector, with no rises this year for a lot and next to nothing for about 6 years 2009-15.
Whilst some people in the public sector may be able to get better jobs in the private sector, it wouldn't apply at most SMEs with shit wages and a pound of flesh ethos with 20 days annual leave.
If you want a wage rise the best way is getting another job.

thats over 10 years so about 3% a year, sounds about right

once they are qualified they start at 22k (about 10 pounds an hour an hour)

dont hit 35k until approx 12 years of service, depending on development etc

Nurses/doctors earn significantly more than the living wage while millions struggle on the minimum wage. Who is the most deserving? Why is 2k the magic number? It's awful nurses don't earn enough, and firemen, and those in the types of jobs where any normal person would have to be insane to do them.
The way things work, the NHS staff should ask for 5k more, then they might actually get 2..

are these very low paid workers employed by the government? the answer is no
are you arguing that because the private sector is screwing over the poor means its ok for the government to screw over the health workers?
