Your most personally moving moment in sports history (apart from City)

Has to be King Colins return on that wonderful Boxing Day game at home to Newcastle.
Never experienced anything like it before and when he came on at half time I felt a fucking big lump in my throat.
Have to say a wonderful big thanks to the Newcastle supporters who also sang their hearts out to Colin.
Don`t know how I held back the tears but my mate was in bits, but he wasn`t alone as young and old had tears streaming down their faces.
Very, very moving and emotional game to see my all time favourite City lad back in action.

I can remember being totally gutted that Tom Watson ran out of steam and lost the play off in the 2009 Open after leading right through at his age. He was gazing out to sea before the first hole of the play off and you could see he knew he had run out of gas

Im an F1 fan at all but i was in wythenshawe hospital when damon hill won the championship in 1996.
murray walker was clearly very good friends with Hill and his commentating as Hill won brought a tear to my eye.
Something along the lines of “he’s our boy! Hes british”

also
‘Arry carpenters “go on frank” commentary in the first (i think) bruno-tyson fight.
Another example of friendship totally blowing any neutrality away.

i suppose they both got me as it showed we are all human

So far...my daughter breaking a British record in rowing. Her winning at Henley in a few weeks will top that however

Not long back from Henley. They got knocked out in the quarter finals by the crew that went on to win it. They managed to keep them honest throughout the race, not letting them paddle home, kept them stroke for stroke for much of the race but other crew just got a length on them at the start and they couldn’t ever get it back, that’s probably their last race as a crew as York uni beckons for Miss MB. So yeah this is my proudest moment but also heartbreaking for them.

As mentioned, the Troy Deeney Goal in the Watford vs Leicester play off match is pretty special.

2012 - Ryder Cup Miracle of Medinah was fantastic drama
2012 - Olympics "Super Saturday" when Jessica Ennis, Greg Rutherford & Mo Farah all won Gold in quick succession of each other
2012 - May 13th, whether we can mention it or not.

In fact I'm just gonna say 2012 full stop!!

(I also include watching the Stone Roses at Heaton Park that year!!)

The long jump final where Mike Powell broke the world recored.
Football wise I looked on in horror as the scousers beat Milan in the final and the rags winning the chumps leauge in 99. But even us wearing blue tinted glasses had are own miracle playing the Gills 4 days later.
But non football Powell v Lewis tops it.

This obviously excludes anything to do with City. We all know that 99% of posters would choose something from City's history, most probably 93:20.

The reason why I'm starting this is that, for the umpteenth time, I've just watched Red Rum win his third at Aintree. Now I'm not even a racing fan, know virtually nothing about it, but I swear that brings tears to my eyes every fucking time! Something about the way that horse pricks up his ears as he crosses the finishing line, in acknowledgment of the roar of the crowd, just kills me.

I think that Hissan El Gerrouj finally winning an Olympic 1500m gold in Athens after trying for so long comes an honourable second. Again, it's the look on his face as he crosses the finishing line. Something absolutely illuminated in his face.

What's your choice?
I always loved it when they brought Red Rum out of retirement to lead the National contenders around the parade area before the race. His ears would be up and he’d be all excited; he definitely knew where he was! :)

Thought of another one. Probably already mentioned but Andy Murray breaking down in tears in his post-match interview when he lost the Wimbledon final in 2012. Brutal.

I can't really put my feelings into words when Eriksen was receiving treatment on the pitch a couple of weeks ago but when the picture came up on here showing him conscious on the stretcher, it was absolutely superb, especially after the pictures of his wife being comforted.
